I would say the votes are 3-1 against.

Never happen. I know cycloneworld is about the biggest LE fan on the planet but it just isn't a fit anymore. To have him back would create a divided fan base, with a fresh person the entire fan base can rally around a new direction. That being said I think Mac will be here for quite a while.

Wow, the results are absolutely shocking here. We have a coach who does not have any baggage, at all, none. LE has a ton and there is no great indication that he is over all of his issues (if you include the language and foul attitude), plus, he's not exactly setting the world on fire.

I wouldn't be too upset about these poll results. There are over 5000 registered members on CF, and so far, less than 300 have particiapted in the poll. If 3000 had participated, and 63% wanted LE back, then I would be majorly concerned.

I voted "no" and I am shocked at the number of people who voted "yes". Now I can understand how guys like David Archuletta and Taylor Hicks can win American Idol.
Seriously, I don't think LE is ever going to achieve the same success he had at ISU. And even his time here was a rollercoaster ride (1 great season, 1 disappointing season and 3 bad ones). I would love to see him succeed somewhere but it won't be at ISU and probably won't happen period. I agree with others that he is not a good enough recruiter. He had all of his success at ISU with Tim Floyd's recruits (Fizer, Shirley, Rancik and Johnson) and three tremendous JUCO transfers (Tinsley, Horton and Nurse).

I will take a "disappointing" season that ends with a conference title any day of the week. If that is disappointing what have the last 5 years been.

IMO let's leave the past in the past (sure, it's fun to discuss every once in awhile). I seriously don't get this whole longing to go back to him, especially with what he's done coaching-wise in the recent past. Besides, what McD seems to be building right now is going to make Eustachy's 2 memorable years pale in comparison in the long run.

19-14 Little snippy, eh? I know some community college coaches that have much better records than that. Should we hire them? They also do not abuse their players, do not go crazy with young co-eds, and have not had a major drinking problem.
The fact of the matter is that LE became a stain in the tradition of ISU basketball for bringing shame upon himself and our program. Our Athletic Department would get massive negative publicity if they did this whether he is a great coach or not.

Until the 08-09 season starts its only speculation. I think we are still 3 years away from a 20 win season.

I am just disppointed that he was not given an opprtunity to get better and continue coaching. I belive that GJ hates LE and that made the decision to fire him delightful for the president.
Those pics from mizzou came out days after the game in late january or febuary. Yet he wasnt fired until May 3rd. What happened between the mizzou pics and May 3rd that gave GJ the opprtunity to S-can LE? Why not fire him immediately after the pics are on the net?

Becasue if I remember right the pics that came out in January were not incriminating like the ones that came out later in May. There was no negative feedback untill Witosky ran different pictures and theRegister called for LE to be let go. Don't forget LE had a 10 year contract.

Who do you think was more influential in thedecision for firing:
BVDV, Geoffroy, or the Register?
