I'm going to assume he'll choose a more prestigious program so that when it happens I won't fall into a deep, dark depression.

I really want Barnes, but morbid curiosity wants to see how badly this place would react if he went elsewhere.

His quotes are from last November. He wants to be recruited and committed players aren't recruited (at least not as hard). Don;t read to much into it.

HB seems like a no nonsense young man. He wants to keep his options open, which is very smart. He probably doesn't want to go to a school that has questions hanging over it in terms of their head coach. That's why I think ISU will be fine by the time he is ready to commit. JP hired GM because he isn't going to use ISU as a stepping stone to go somewhere else. We just need to have some success over the next 2 years, and given GM's track record, I think we will.

As much as we ALL would LOVE to have HB playing at ISU, Im sure we could all see reasons why he would go. Now if he goes, he better stay out of the BIg 12.

Although it is true, I hated seeing this :S HB: Yes. There are rumors floating around that I've committed to Iowa State. I'd like to make it perfectly clear that I have not. I have not made any commitment to attend any college and have not committed to Iowa State at all. I'm going to take my time, see what all the schools are talking about, get to know the coaches, and then make the best decision possible. I haven't made any decisions yet and I am not close to making a decision right now. | | |

I'm sure Mac will/has promised him whatever he wants. He knows what he'll be getting here at ISU. If it were me it would come down to what other schools have to offer, which I would weight against my recollections of ISU as a whole. Does he remember that one time that guy in an ISU hat was a jerk, does he recall the time the ISU fan patted him on the back before he was 'discovered'? The intangibles are what would matter to me, which has little to nothing to do with what Mac does.

I don't think it will take him long to tire of the process however, and its really just starting.

Jake Sullivan is his AAU coach. It would be nice to have a little push from him to go to ISU, however, as a coach, you want to see your kid succeed at the next level. If Iowa State is the best place to do that, so be it.
Harrison is very close to his mom. There wouldn't be any "I'll go to ISU so I can be close to my family" reasons from Harrison. Where he goes, she'll go.
I'd love to have him. Great ballplayer. Better person.
