There's pros and cons to both. Floyd's recruitment pitch to Fizer... "Anyone can play WITH the best teams in the country, but it takes a REAL MAN to play against the best teams."

However if he gets to be a top 10 project will it raise questions about his recruiting ability, I wouldn't think so. It will show the program/ facilities aren't prepared to recruit at this level though.

Harrison is very close to his mom. There wouldn't be any "I'll go to ISU so I can be close to my family" reasons from Harrison. Where he goes, she'll go.
I'd love to have him. Great ballplayer. Better person. I don't think Sullivan and GMAC are the best of friend's..

Obviously he should be a 5 star. A 6-7 guard who can dribble, shoot, rebound, and pass would win a few games for someone. He is a Must Get. Expect to see Bill Self floating around in Ames the next 2 years.

lets just leave it as it is: every ISU fan wants him, we all dread the idea of him going to EIU, and if he goes somewhere else.....we'll all wonder what if.
Is he the highest ranked player to come out of the Ames HS system?

Keep in mind I included the program in with facilites. Meaning coaching, reputation, & vision etc.

Well. Kansas, to name one, doesn't have their own basketball practice facility - they have to practice at the small volleyball arena if Allen Fieldhouse isn't available.
This will come down to Barnes' confidence in Gmac and his program.

Kansas doesn't have their own BB "Taj Mahal"...yet. They will...Florida and Kentucky have built unbelievable BB facilities...so good that some pro BB teams are looking to copy them. This is the next big wave in facilities upgrading for major power conference teams.
With respect to this kid, I was happy to see a pic of him from last season...he was wearing his dad's #40. One question I have is how involved in his life is his father? You really never see anything about that.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

I just hope all these appearances he makes with our team means we are in his top few choices and he's serious about ISU and not just coming along for the ride because he's becoming a high profile recruit and can get this kind of attention.

Nick Collison was a McDonald's all american, so he would be the highest.
Don't worry about the article that was printed in November. He attended every ISU basketball game after that. He just wants to be recruited and see what that is like. Can't blame the kid. At the end of his junior year and after we win 20 games I look for him to commit to the good guys

I like Harrison Barnes attitude and overall game. Iowa State definitely has the inside track in recruting him for so many obvious reasons. The more coveted he becomes as a recruit, the less likely we are to get him though. If he is as good as advertised, he may choose to go to school on one of the coasts where the expectations are not so high for him personally.
