Re: Johnny Orr Interview on Jon Miller

I caught the Cotlar interview. It's great every time I hear him. Still remember the presser after he resigned. That got me all choked up.

According to the interview she is doing as good as expected since they got her on medicine right away and caught it early.

This was before I hit campus, so I would not have been an ISU fan back then.....what did he say in his resignation?

Thats my question. How did ISU ever afford/justify having the highest paid coach? Of course I havent heard the amount. If its 225k instead of 220, that would explain a lot.

Who can forget Ron Virgil 6-4 guarding guys 6-11? I still say the most exciting game I have ever witnessed was the 102-100 Double Overtime over Iowa in 1988.

I also enjoyed going to the old Big-8 Tournament. Talk about a good time.

Oh well, life seems to pass by so fast anymore.
Great game...I recall us running the high post spread at the end of the game and getting several back door alley-oops to both Ronnie Virgil and Terrence Allen!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Re: Johnny Orr Interview on Jon Miller

If I remember correctly, ISU hired Orr away from Michigan for 52K/year. I think he was only making in the high 30's at Michigan. If those numbers are correct, my how times have changed.
