I don't think the non-redshirt will matter. 2 more years and he's gone regardless of being a senior or junior. Assuming he's healthy and as good as we all think.

That redshirt would have looked pretty good right about now.
Regardless of how bad the injury was, some of the crap that was spewed here and other places was downright 'Hawkeyesk'.

I agree...very disappointing that our medical staff is not doing a better job in the diagnosis of these things.
Hopefully, he will heal properly and take his game to the next level next season. The scary thing is that he was clearly one of our best players (if not our best player) while he was basically playing on one leg last season.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Our medical staff is top notch. The reason this was found now was the bone bruise finally cleared up allowing the fracture to be seen. This wasn't a error of incompetence, but an error of unfortunate circumstance.

There were still tests that could have or in this case should have been done to detect the fracture. The fact is these tests cost money that they were probably not willing to spend.

I agree.......short of cutting him open to see for sure, I'm not sure what they could have done. | "We have gone forth from our shores repeatedly over the last hundred years and we've done this as recently as the last year in Afghanistan and put wonderful young men and women at risk, many of whom have lost their lives, and we have asked for nothing except enough ground to bury them in, and otherwise we have returned home to seek our own, you know, to seek our own lives in peace, to live our own lives in peace." I still believe Wes has world's of improvement to make on the defensive end as well as on the offensive end. He is an above avg. player, but needs development to be a great player.
I love Wes and he should have a lot to prove this coming year. Hopefully he shows it in his play.

Props to Wesley for playing through it. I thought he had a good year despite being sidelined a couple different times with the ankle. He's a gamer, and I hope this coming season is a break-out season for him. I hope the new kids are ready to compliment his game and give him some help.
By toughing it out he's definitely established himself as a leader for the young guys to emulate. I hope next season is a healthy one for all our Clones. Turned out he tore just about every ligament in his wrist. Miss April was pretty hot that year. | | |

I changed it to "wesley's ankle WAS broken all season". Past tense friend. My fault.

What other diagnostic techniques would have been warranted?

that is just amazing on both accounts...not finding that and him playing through it. I just pray that he makes a FULL recovery and his basketball career/life is unaffected by it.
