Some KU fans are good.

I was searchihng for Harrison Barnes on KU message board, and stumbled across this.

I think it'd be great for ISU to get one. They have GREAT fans and really support their teams.

Baylor or Iowa State.

Then, you see why there fans are disliked...

Not Iowa State because their fan base is delusional.

Well, it just shows there are two sides to every fan base.

Not every fan base is as you describe. By and large . . ISU fans are pretty sensible and decent. The last time ISU beat KU in basketball . . their real colors came out. Do you remember??? They were calling JT a thug . . ISU was constantly grabbing . . getting away with murder . . those nice Kansas fans are nice right now because they are enjoying a long winning run against ISU . . remember Nebraska in football. They were very complimentary of ISU fans UNTIL we started beating them . . the true colors came out. SO pleeeze.

Several years ago when I was living in S Cal I had to go to a sports bar to watch ISU FB. When I watched ISU/Iowa, I sat smack in the middle of the Hawk fans (ISU won big and the Hawk fans were actually gracious). I went back a few weeks later to watch ISU/Nebraska. The host wouldn't allow me to sit with the NU fans - said it was a bar policy because NU fans were "the meanest in the country". True story. The NU fans had their set in the back corner of the bar just for that reason.

Eh, all fan bases are pretty delusional. Ours can be and IS delusional at (actually a lot of) times with all the talk of of expectations and how we deserve respect in MBB and FB. Note, there is a difference between wanting to be respected and having success and thinking that we deserve respect and success. I've got no issue with the first (nor should anyone), however in regards to the second one anytime we've been put in a position to succeed or garner respect we find new and continually impressive ways to lose and thus become laughing stocks.

I think that ISU fans are fairly sensible in the college landscape. It's probably because we've been force fed humility. On the scale of delusional fans, we're pretty low.
