Jon Miller dropped the ball.

He spent the first 15 minutes with Van Coleman talking about OJ Mayo and NBA issues that don't affect us and ran out of time to talk about the local teams more. Of course the Hawks were discussed thoroughly and Van even threw in a "we" when talking about them. It would have been nice to hear about recruiting targets like Barnes.

Re: Jon Miller dropped the ball.

wont be the last time.

I brought Van on to localize the Mayo story. The recruiting stuff was just to fill the last minutes of the segment.

I had Barnes, Drake, UNI, state of Iowa prospects for the future, new ISU coach, and other things on my list...but Van can certainly fill up the air time.

I am guessing I will have him back on again before Barnes makes his decision ;)

Re: Jon Miller dropped the ball.

Honestly, the Mayo thing is kind of a big deal right now. He's supposed to talk about a 2010 possible bball prospect for ISU when there's a dude getting payed to play for another team?

I'd drop that ball too.

Hey Jon, did you get any time to ask Van about Harrison during the breaks? What did he have to say about ISU?

This wasn't my last chance to interview Van. He'll be on again in June

Iowa has better recruits in mind, I'm sure

If he's not ISU's, he'll be a high profile program's.

I thought Jon had a good show. If you don't like it, don't listen.

Yes, because we can't get 5 hours on Mayo when we get home tonight.

Re: Jon Miller dropped the ball.

That wasn't a rip on Jon. I thought he missed an opportunity. He thinks differently. Not a big deal at all. I thought he should have started with the recruiting and wrap it up in the end with Mayo. The first thing Van said was he just got back from an AAU tournament or something like that. Why didn't we talk about it?

I listen everyday and turn it off during Cub talk. I hate that but 100% understand it.

I don't even listen to his show but wow some of you guys are pretty harsh on him for some pretty tick-tack things sometimes. Mayo is big news right now, Harrison Barnes is not at the moment.

I'm guessing JonDMiller might not be too fond of you if a large number of his audience decided to take your advice...

Agree. Jon is always good about respectfully defending himself, too. Most Hawks I know, in any argument, revert to, "Oh yeah, we beat you 15 times in a row in football."

This happens when debating anything...it could be global warming, Ginger or Marianne, paper or plastic, whatever.
