Official summer boredom lineup thread.
To combat the slow days of summer, I think I should start a lineup thread. If you don't like it, don't read it.
Here's how I see it playing out.
1-Buck
2-Diante
3. Wesley
4. Craig
5. Jamie VDB
Off the bench this is how i see it, at each position
1. BP (As shooter) Diante, (if not playing 2, will play point.)
2. Lucca, Haluska, Eikmeier, Booze (Possible rs candidate, he needs it), Cam
3. Lucca, who else ? maybe Haluska for defense
4. LA Pomlee (I think he will be better than expected) Clinton Mann. These two will get about equal playing time, I doubt either one redshirts. Mann will be our blood and guts guy, and Pomlee will be an athletic rebounder/shot blocker
5. AT for defense, maybe show the offense he shows in practice, Justin Hamilton-redshirt possibility, depends on how he is when he plays/practices this summer
I think this is a pretty lethal lineup, with a pure point (Buck), and slashing combo guard (Diante), a mismatch, flat out scorer (Wes),
an improving, scoring, power forward with a sweet jump hook, and an improving jumper, (Craig), and a big man down low with a nice jumper who can score.
Not only that, but Lucca will be one of the better 3 shooters in the Big 12, and Eik and Sean Haluska have that potential to.

Re: Official summer boredom lineup thread.
I'm as excited for Buckley as the next guy, but I am really hoping we don't go through another season with a guy who's never played PG at the college level. I hope the lineup is Garrett/Lucca/Wesley/Brackins/VDB with the 4 guys off the bench being some combo of AT, Pomlee, Mann, Buckley, and one of the Petey/Haluska combo. Even that is a pretty deep rotation and I hope McD gets it down to about 9 guys.

For the start of the season I have to agree with wheels. Buck will have to have a few games to get to know everything and get up to speed.

Re: Official summer boredom lineup thread.
If Lucca doesn't start that would be a joke. After all the talk about how much better we would have been with him and what a dead eye shooter he is, if he doesn't at least start that would mean all that talk was just talk.

Re: Official summer boredom lineup thread.
Not sure how we would have Buckley and Diante start together....I mean one of our guards has to be an outstanding shooter, otherwise teams will pack it in on us again.

Re: Official summer boredom lineup thread.
Is it wrong of me to worry about Lucca's value for next years team? It seems like every year fans select one player that we know a little about a lable him a "Savior" of sorts. I remember it happening with Adam Shaper, I know it happen with Alex Thompson last season and these were guys we had seen on the court. I guess I am just a little hesitant about the situation.
I guess a year in the program couldn't hurt him though.

Re: Official summer boredom lineup thread.
Here's my prediction for the starting lineup for the 2396-2397 season. I realize this is almost 300 years from now, so it might be a little off. I am assuming teams will be limited to 2 human clones and 2 space aliens per team.

Re: Official summer boredom lineup thread.
We need shooters on the floor.
Lucca will start, Buckley will be on the bench at least at the beginning of the season. Performance from then on out will determine who gets the bulk of the playing time. It probably comes down to who's hot when.
I know we haven't seen Lucca play, but from all accounts, he is just what we need: shooter, big body, ballhandler.
We're probably looking at a 17 win season or so, but I think it will be much more "fun" than last season.

You can have them in together, as long as you have Staiger and Wes J in there as well. Also, I expect Garrett to be a much improved outside shooter next year.
