New lineup/Rotation

I think it's pretty obvious Lucca will have to play the 3, he's he only one with the size and build to guard other SF's in the league. Haluska will probably have to fill in at that position as well. I still think Brackins, VDB, Thompson, Mann, and Pomlee will see time in the frontcourt while Hamilton redshirts. Our quasi-depth chart not accounting for minutes probably looks a little like:

PG: Petey, Garrett, Buckley
SG: Haluska, Garrett, Eik
SF: Staiger, Haluska, Eik
PF: Brackins, Thompson, Mann, Pomlee
C: VDB, Thompson, Pomlee

Two of those guys will probably only get spot minutes. I don't have an opinion on that yet and probably won't until after the CCL. Any other thoughts on this?

Re: New lineup/Rotation

ya know what I am most suprised with....The lack of Boozer.
I wonder whats up with him. The guy has potential.

I think you will (at first) get
Garrett
Petey
Staigger
Thompson
Brackins

I know people think all these new players will be the anwser, but they will still be new to the system and young. having someone that knows the system yet not as talented is sometimes your only option to start the season.

That line up looks a lot less intimidating than
Garrett
Staigger
WJ
Thompson
Brackins

Re: New lineup/Rotation

PG - Garrett
SG - Haluska
SF - Staiger
PF - Brackins
PF - VDB

It doesn't look great on paper but the G's have some experience at least where this past season they played and didn't have any experience. I wouldn't call VDB a center just to fill a spot so I'm going with three forwards.

I don't like having Alex Thompson in the line up, you have to hope the VDB can come in and pick the system up quickly.

Re: New lineup/Rotation

I reallllllllllllly wish Christopherson did not have to sit a year with the transfer. He looks like a very talented kid, someone who could come in right now and start at SF. Then you could slide Lucca to SG, where is probably more suited. I first thought him signing was a bit of a head scratcher, simply because he has only 3 years, and would sit behind WJ. My how things have changed quickly.

Does anyone else thing SC could be VERY good by the time he leaves ISU? Personally, I believe he could be a fantastic player to help us build our program back to respectability.

If Brackins can develop a decent inside game i actually have to problem with thompson in he could provide a strong defensive presence in the paint.

Slow down on lineups. The season hasn't started yet. It may be VERY easy to figure a lineup.

Indeed. It may be that the last five guys on the team have to start, regardless of who they are!
