MBB line-up 08-09

Well, time to move on. Here are my starters:

Garrett
Peterson
Staiger
Brackins
JVB

First in:
AT
Buckley
Haluska
Boozer / Ike
Mann / Pomlee / Hamilton

I still think Hamilton could redshirt, but Ike most likely will play next year. I think this team could have its moments for sure, but we will be lacking a go to type of player without Wes. Maybe Garrett could fill that roll? I could see Buckley starting by the end of the season ahead of Peterson.

I was thinking a three-guard lineup was probable before yesterday. I think it's a definite now.

I agree. This teams moments will definitely come from shooting the three ball. One person I left off who might have to see some time is Lee. We are going to need someone to guard athletic wing players.

I kind of think these threads are more of a jinx...as one like this showed up last week and we lost a starter. Seems like every time we put together a decent lineup, a piece of it leaves.

I have no insight but here is my starting 5:
1- Point Guard – Diante Garrett
2- Shooting Guard – Lucca Staiger
3- Small Forward – Clinton Mann
4- Power Forward – Craig Brackins
5- Center – Alex Thompson

In order to make my starting lineup, I will assume that at least 2 more players will not be on next years team. I have no insight, but this seems to be a fairly good assumption. So, I'm going to assume that Lucca will not be a Cyclone next year (he'll be lured to play for the big money in Germany) and I'll say that Pomlee doesn't make grades....here's my starters: PG - Garrett SG - Eik SF - Haluska PF - Brackins C - Thompson

Why would you just assume that others will not be on the team? While it remains a possibility, I think that it is wrong to mention an individuals name. You are just opening up the opportunity for rumors to be spread.

I understand your concern, but The rumors have already been spread. Just read Jeremy's main page post

"To be honest and up-front, there have been a LOT of rumors about players leaving this year, and several in the past few weeks. The rumors about Brackins have died down considerably but obviously nothing is certain these days in Cyclone country. I would place a bet that Brackins stays but as far as others, I honestly don't know right now what will happen. We're either at the end of the defections or we're the Titanic that has just started to tilt. I'm 100% honest when I say that right now nobody really knows anything."

There are other members who concur with what Jermey is saying too. I dont want to find the posts, but others have said they have heard rumblings about other players leaving as well. Unfortunately, with the cyclones when there is smoke, there is a fire. I do not have any inside info, but if I had to put my credits on it, I would bet it is more likely we will lose another player rather than keep everybody until the 2008 season tips off.

Nothing against your opinion, but history shows this might just be the beginning. I hope I am wrong...

I thought about that line-up, but put Peterson in over Buckley, at least initially, to add some shooting.
