Assistant Coaches Issue (WES)
Never been able to actually type on this thing until I graduated recently, but now I can say whatever. But I've been close enough to this situation to tell everyone that McD is a good, (HARD) coach and Wes can't handle that type of coach. Any fan could see this from the arena circle. Every time McD looked like he was gonna explode Wes would look like he would go cry in the corner like he just got hit with the big wooden spoon.
As for McD not being the player coach is no big deal to me, we've all seen what that type of coach does to a program (Morgan) = (Thug Ball). Well the point behind this is the assistant coaches are supposed to be the players coach and have the emotional connection with the players while the head coach worries about the larger problems. So when it comes down to it Wes was to big of a wimp to handle a hard coach and there was no assistant coach to pick him up.

Good grief...another stellar first post, tossing someone under the bus.

Maybe the basketball team needs someone who is not a coach for the players to talk to like the FB team has.

Was that why Pri left - he knew that Wes was probably going to leave and it was time to split. I think McD was harder on Wes, Jiri, and Rashon than the non athletic players on the team. Maybe being hard is not working for inner city. They may want a dad figure like Wayne.

Yeah, where was our non denominational chaplain who was not called religious? The football season was over a long time ago. Seriously, this team needs some help in that department with all the unhappiness amongst players. It should be more fun than this.

The good guy/bad guy thing even works in business. For every great guy nice buddy buddy CEO or person in charge there is someone 2 doors down that no one likes and his job is to to the dirty work. If the head person is the guy no one likes there is the best guy in the world 2 doors down to keep the peace and keep people happy.

I've heard this a lot about Morgan's teams, but never had an actual explanation. What is "Thug Ball" exactly? Lessons on mugging old ladies with a basketball while crossing the street?

That's interesting. I have no idea what McD is like as a coach in terms of how hard he is on players, but I do remember him being quoted in the Register back when he was at UNI saying that "he's not much of a yeller".
If it's true that he's a real pain to play for, that would surprise me. I don't think he ever had that type of reputation at UNI.

Re: Assistant Coaches Issue (WES)
I would think that if you were currently affiliated with the university, like if you a working there or something, you may be restricted from boards such as these.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to ridicule the guy, everybody has to start with a first post sometime.
