You beat me to it! Looks ISU's ship isn't the only one sinking.
Just to be clear, the last sentence is sarcasm too.
GO CYCLONES!!!

Which specific players do you think Gillespie is responsible for losing?
:biglaugh: I just couldn't resist.

Actually, sarcasm really doesn't work that well when the sarcastic comment has not basis in reality.
Kentucky was 18-13 last year and was 12-4 in the SEC...they even made something called the NCAA Tournament. Now, for the typical UK fan that would certainly meet the definition of "losing" season but most other places it would not.
Gillispie certainly has butted heads with his new players at UK, which is part of the reason that they had such a tough start pre-conference...losing to teams that they should have not lost to. However, my sense is that Billy is getting rid of the dead wood...Jasper is a decent player (played in 20 games with 4pts and 5rebs per game) but Williams played in only 5 games and scored a total of 4 points and grabbed a total of 5 rebounds. Just a tad different from losing your most prolific player, statistically speaking.
Re: Two Players Seek "Late" Kentucky Transfers
I'm wondering if this isn't something the NCAA might need to take a harder look at. After seeing this post, I thought to myself a little bit about the transfer situation and weather or not this could become a more prominent thing in College basketball. You've got to do one year in College before you go pro. So, you sign on with what you think is a decent school because you can't go elite basketball program school, in hopes that things go well and you get to the NCAA and can make a name for yourself early and then jump ship to the pros. Well, things don't go as well as hoped for you and you aren't going to get drafted this year, but, you did make enough of a name for yourself that you think you could fill the spot left by that kid who did go into the draft from another, bigger name school, somewhere else. You decide to go ahead and jump ship because you think the new school may be interested in your talents. You figure you'll get at least one solid year in the new school and chances are, with their history, that will be going deeper into the NCAAs than you could have hoped for at your current school.
I'm not saying anything foul was going on either. And I'm not saying it's going to happen. I'm just wondering what anyone else thinks. With kids having to come to college or at least 1 year before going pro, it could leave a lot of doors open for kids to be moving around schools when a superstar leaves early for the pros. Almost like D1 caliber Juco kids.

Breaking news...
The University of Kentucky has decided to change it's mascot to more appropriately reflect what the school represents. The new mascot is the Sturgeon Poacher. University officials felt this mascot would both match the odor and practices emanating from the University's marquee sports program.
Images of the new mascot can be found at the following link

Thanks. I'm so ********, I had no idea Kentucky made the dance last year - had no clue at all. Clueless I tell you!
Re: Two Players Seek "Late" Kentucky Transfers
So what are the odds that Gillespie got rid of two players for the Arizona kid and Wes?
Re: Two Players Seek "Late" Kentucky Transfers
I think there is a small chance he got rid of Jasper who I believe was suppose to be one of their best players this year.
Re: Two Players Seek "Late" Kentucky Transfers
Not sure about proving it, but I think the staff is closing in on completing the circle. I wish, I knew how to draw you guys a picture of this without using names. I do want to say thanks to you guys because I have pulled some information from here without telling you and passed it along.

Kentucky had no business being the tournament last year. They got in on name alone.

If there are truly some improprieties, I hope we have better sources than this internet message board for our supporting evidence.

I'm sure their name didn't hurt them but finishing second in a power conference with a 12-4 record was what really got them in.

When you have the story things make more sense...ISU-Alabama-ISU-Kentucky-ISU....not that simple, but it's the best I can do....and it's more pulling stuff to my attention than actually new knowledge.

They caught fire at the end of last year and were one of the hottest teams around. They just got off to a very rocky start. I would say when tournament time came around they were definately on of the top 40 teams.
