    C.J. Wilcox is gone.

C.J. Wilcox is down to Utah and Washington, per his scout profile, and the lead in to a article.
This means Thames really moves up in importance.

Maybe Courtney will write an article about how great things are with recruiting even though we missed out on him.

I thought it said that it was down to us and Washington State?

I'm glad Wilcox is gone...why bring in another role player. We have a whole roster of role players which are a good foundation. Outside of CB who are the other proven top players on our roster. I was excited about Maymon because he gave us an immediate top 3 player on our roster and his comments in the tribune give us reason to believe that we can recruit talent of his calaber. We need stars on our roster not more role players.

Bottomline: Wilcox would have been another role player.

I think with the attrition that the basketball team has seen lately, we really can't be that big of choosers when it comes to recruiting. We need players, good team players. Hopefully McD's system and staff can make them all stars in the long run.

If he would have just been a role player, what are the guys that the staff is recruiting that are lower on the food chain than him?

    Re: C.J. Wilcox is gone.

Good point Brice. Why the staff has not set up a tent in the city of Chicago is beyond me. We keep going after recruits in California. Just go set up shop in Chicago. There are tons of good players there. So who do we miss next?

Looks Like Xavier Thames will be the next to not chose us.
    Followed Closely by Givon Crump
    Sam Dower
and we will end up with Raymond Cowels.

So many great prospects in the class of 09-10 around the midwest and we seem to be striking out again on all of them.

Don't worry though. We will convince ourselves that our next recruit was way under the radar.

I'm not one of the "the sky is falling" people and I'm no where near the ledge. But I understand some fans getting annoyed with every ISU article being written with rose colored glasses.
