Barnes offerd by Maryland
Just an FYI that Harrison has received yet another offer.

Everyone might as well accept the fact that he is going to be able to choose from just about any school in the nation. Nothing we can do about that. All we can do is promote ISU is a positive way to this kid and hope he likes his home town.

"So ah Jake, what do you think our chances are now with Harrison?"
"I think that people are responding to someone standing up and saying this is what we want to do and let's not be afraid to go for it,'' Pollard said. "I think Iowa State has a very conservative, modest background. We never pound our chest and say `Let's do it.' It's OK to set a goal. You can't do it if you don't say what you want to do. You should be proud of it.''

If he comes to ISU, well that'll be great. If he goes to a NON-BIG12 perennial national champion contender, well good for him him. If he goes to a Big12 team that is not us, well, I guess i won't be sending him a Christmas card ever.
Congrats to him for getting the attention that apparently he deserves.

This is just my opinion, but I think JS's involvement will not be a factor favoring ISU.

I hope Fred Hoiberg can talk to HB about his experience regarding staying home to play his college ball and what a good experience it was (hope it was good).

The Mayor should "host" him when he visits Minnesota -
Re: Barnes offerd by Maryland
This is just the beginning of the list. The schools that will probably offer him in the next couple months will make your head spin.....and that much more excited when ISU signs him!

I am either going to really like this guy or really hate this guy. I hold grudges.

Re: Barnes offerd by Maryland
I wonder if Fred Hoiberg is like a trump card for McDermott. If it gets late in the game maybe Mac will give him a call and ask for his assistance. Interesting.

I'll like him and root for him either way. I root for anybody from Iowa, especially people that have their head on straight and are good students. Unfortunately I plan on rooting for him while he's on a different team.

Re: Barnes offerd by Maryland
HB has the potential to be one of the best players ever from the state of Iowa. His father is a former ISU player. He is a hometown product and an excellent example of a student athlete.
Given all of these factors, it is really going to be a let down if he doesn't choose ISU. One of the more disappointing factors in all of this is that his AAU coach is a former ISU player, and in listening to JS's comments I get the impression that Jake will be a deterrent in HB choosing ISU.

If he doesn't choose ISU, I will be more disappointed in the fact that GMac and his program weren't attractive enough for a home-town athlete to sign up to join. GMac has all the advantages here, he's ours to lose.
