Lets start harrison chants
how about one end of the student section yells "WE WANT!" and the other yells "BARNES" something along of the lines of that during timeouts, but not every timeout cause it could make not wanna come to games bc he might feel as if he was being pressured into it, either that or he'd feel very appreciated and wanted in ames as i bet he already does but it would solidify it...just a being bored during summer idea

Re: Lets start harrison chants
good idea - just a bit to early to mention it.....unless ur talking about chants at football games - that would be cool too, but i'm not sure if he attends those

In my personal opinion, I don't believe anyone deserves that kind of attention without even playing one game for ISU. Lets save the cheers for the players on the team.

I'm chanting in my office right now but no one seems to know what I'm talking about.

I do remember when I believe it was RaShon Dickey was on campus there were fliers in the student section at football games with his picture telling the students he was there and to chant we want RaShon after the 1st quarter.

Re: Lets start harrison chants
I remember when Taggart said that he thought it was really cool when he went to a football game and there were signs and chants for him. I still don't get why some people say its not a good idea, it's definitely not going to hurt the recruitment and you do everything that is considered fair game to get a kid this highly rated...

Re: Lets start harrison chants
There is no doubt that it must feel fantastic for a recruit to have their named chanted at a basketball or football game. I mean how cool would that be? I just think it should be something that a student looks forward to and has to earn, rather than achieving celebrity status before their first game. I think a better way to get a recruit to come is to show them how well we cheer for the players currently on the team. Not trying to be a buzz kill here. I'll leave it at that.

I agree with this to a large extent. I think a few random chants would be fine during slow times, but most of the time the focus should be on the players who are already on the team.
I think Lucca's situation was a lot different as he was already a member of the team who was just not being allowed to play.

I know there's a difference, but the common denominator is that Lucca was made to feel wanted and welcome, and the same could happen with Harrison.

Re: Lets start harrison chants
Please no harrison chants, how desperate of a school is ISU by doing something like this?
-
Re: Lets start harrison chants
Why shouldn't we be desperate?
