Jordan Dykstra / ESPN Super 60 (6/05/08)
Jordan getting some love!
I took this from another thread, but felt as though it shouldn't be buried. ESPN - College Basketball Recruiting - ESPN 100 Wesley Staten (2012 - verbal commit) -

Thats pretty cool they have him rated as a 81 overall with plenty of room for improvement. I'm liking this kid more and more everyday.

It's great that Dykstra is getting some love, but where is Barnes on this list?

Where is Harrison on that list?

And, because we're ISU, he'll probably drop some in the rankings as it becomes clear he's sticking with his commitment to us... ;)

Sounds like a great kid. If you get a chance he has a free article on Scout.com and he already loves ISU and Coach Mac.

wow what a strange coincidence!
We put this up at the same time.

Re: Jordan Dykstra / ESPN Super 60 (6/05/08)
Dykstra is probably the most under-rated and under-appreciated commit in the history of Iowa State Athetics (by our fans that is). Barnes gets all the talk but Dykstra is really going to be something special.
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. -

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone. -

There is just limited info on the web about him. Harrison is easy to locate on the web. This site alone has a zillion hits on him. Wesley Staten (2012 - verbal commit) -
Re: Jordan Dykstra / ESPN Super 60 (6/05/08)
I think this begins to put things in perspective for us fans. Barnes is a key recuit but don't think ESPN didn't do some homework here...and they think Jordan is a better prospect. I think some fans have gone crazy because of the scout rating (one recruiting service) and are not thinking.
According to ESPN we have our prize recruit for 10'. Of course the more the merrier.
Edit: I guess ESPN has not scouted Harrison....my comments still stand. We've landed a heck of a recruit in 10' and anyone else of equal caliber is just icing on the cake.

People are too busy bashing all that goes wrong, thus they don't have time to give credit for the positives. I can't wait to see JD in a Cyclone uniform.

Re: Jordan Dykstra / ESPN Super 60 (6/05/08)
Another thing...frankly I believe that having a top 50-60 kid signed up will help us recruit Barnes. If he wants to play for championships having two top 50 players along with some (by then) veteran players is a nice little start.

it is interesting and bizarre that there has hardly
been a peep about Dykstra, who sounds 'fanatical' about being a clone and loves Mac. Yet mass hysteria about a recruit who probobly wont even be a clone. I disagree cyride3, there hasnt been hardly any threads or posts on Jordan and the few ive seen have been skeptical and somewhat dismissive.
