Just FYI.
THE SKY IS FALLING
I don't doubt it, but is there a source?
It's listed on Rivals.
AAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!
Just kidding.
I think that we just need to face facts that he is not going to be coming to ISU. As much as we all want him and need him,we can't compete with these other teams for him. I think that he would have kind said something if he wanted to be a cyclone.
We know how good Barnes is. We also know that because of how good he is he will have the opportunity to go wherever he wants. Offers should come as no surprise at this point.
If Coach Mac thinks this way, fire him today.
But, since I don't for a second believe that Mac and his staff are defeatists, as a fan I'll follow their lead. Until I hear it from HB himself that he's going elsewhere, I'll believe we have a fine fighting chance to get him.
We will often be beaten by our foes, but I'll be damned if I'll be defeated by them. I'll be damned if I concede anything to them before the final verdict is in; our rivals must work for what they get. We will never become winners until we first think like winners.
... and probably in the upcoming months UCLA, Gonzaga, Duke, NC, and the list will only grow. This guy is going to be able to where ever he wants, we just have to put our best face forward and hopefully get an opportunity to present our case and let him make the best decision for him.
Our chances for him are still very good
Agreed... I'd be very surprised if he goes to ISU. He is going to get offers from every major program, and frankly, will have to consider them all. I expect that we'll be on his list until the very end, mostly out of respect to ISU and what it has done for his development. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's been working out with the team on occassions, no?) However, I fully expect that he'll want to put a little distance between "home life" and "college life." I'd feel a lot better about the situation if he was from anywhere else in the state, (except maybe iowa city).
That all being said, I hope that he comes to ISU... He could be the next revered name that ISU fans would talk about for generations. In the bigger programs he'll get a ton of respect, but only for the years that he's there. Wherever he goes, I wish him the best of luck.
As much as he is around ISU, the team, and the work he has done with him it will be upsetting if he goes elsewhere, expecally to another big 12 team. ISU has done a lot for him.
Unless any of you personally know Harrison, it is all worthless speculation. While he is getting some mind blowing offers, if he grew up truly loving Iowa State, it would be hard to say no. At the same time, it's hard to say no to the top programs in the country.
Do you stay with the girl that you've been in love with for most of your life, or do you dump her for a super model? I believe him when he says that he doesn't know yet.
