Re: Rick Brown Blog...
The more I read, the more I like what I hear coming out of the locker room. These guys seem to get it, they like each other and everyone wants to work hard and do their part.
I know it's early....

Re: Rick Brown Blog...
It sounds like this team is close and does have some good goals going into the season. That is good news because after the Wes deal some made it sound like the BB team and program was a train wreck.

Hopefully the Mann injury tells us that Diante has bulked up since last season.

And will you please change your picture of Wes? I am sick of seeing his ugly face every time you post. Thank you

Re: Rick Brown Blog...
I would have to agree on the criticism of ISU's MBB weight training program. Some of our guys need some more mass to bang in the Big 12.

We have to have the worst weight program in basketball!!! Amen. I know they use machines a lot, and not as many free weight exercises. Bulk is needed for so many of the players - they should train like football players in the off-season. I wonder how hard coach Moser pushes them.

Mcdermott should get shepard to help out with the football team

Re: Rick Brown Blog...
Basketball is not about bulk or mass. What if Diante put on 30 lbs of muscle and screwed his shot all to hell because his arms are now not as flexible and what not? Yes I agree Big 12 ball is big and physical, but in basketball bulk is not what you need.

Yes I agree Big 12 ball is big and physical, but in basketball bulk is not what you need. A lot of teams train for mass. They had television segment on North Carolina basketball last winter concerning how they train, and they were certainly training for bulk and strength. Hansbrough has gained a ton since high school, as have his teammates. It's not all genetics, it has to be a mind-set.
Increased muscle mass is so important for injury prevention also.
