Oh, the rumor mill. It's so entertaining.

The latest rumor I will admit to having picked up from the fan message boards was so intriguing that I actually put in the effort to track it down. Spoiler alert: it turned out to be bogus.

Word on the Web was that Jemal Farmer, who recently was at Iowa State for the team's skills camp, would be making a decision by the end of the week. Farmer is a pretty impressive junior college guard who, in my opinion, would be a great fit for the Cyclones. I'd venture to say ISU agrees, considering it offered him a scholarship before he left town June 22.

But that's not why I called him. Farmer and I chatted briefly at the skills camp, and we share a hometown. That's reason enough to want to talk to somebody, right?

Anyway, I called him Monday and it turns out, Farmer wants to commit soon but not that soon.

Looks to me from a previous post that cyismydog used scout.com as his source. Maybe I'm mistaken, but doesn't look to me like he's "spinning lies", but rather using what you'd think were reliable sources. That's kind of a big difference if it's true - in which case Courtney needs to issue an apology, or at least learn to read the full thread.

That's weird, since Jemal told me he wanted to decide sometime in the next two weeks after the ISU camp, lol. (That was one week ago.) Maybe he changed his mind about his decision date, but I wouldn't exactly say I was spinning lies, since that is what Jemal himself told me.
