I have avoided reading this thread but for some reason decided to read it today. I read the first page and that will be all I read.
However, this statement is absolutely ludicrous. I agree with USC being talked of as a perennial power IF WE ARE TALKING ABOUT FOOTBALL. However, we are talking about basketball. USC has never won a national championship in basketball and their coach has never coached a team past the sweet 16 round.
KU and UK have 3 and 7 national championships respectively and are nearly universally considered top tier basketball schools.
Heck, if he is looking for teams that are currently in "championship mode"...he should look at UCLA (final four nearly every year recently), Florida, Duke,
KU, UK, and UNC.
I wonder what he means about the campus being important...cute coeds or a scenic campus. I certainly believe
ISU's campus to be among the most scenic but I have seen Duke's, UNC's, and
KU's...all are very scenic.
