I think GMac should find a job for Jake Sullivan
I think Jake Sullivan would be a great fit on the staff. What better way to get Harrison Barnes here. Barnes is constantly giving Jake credit for his success, so he must know how to caoch a little bit to mold a top 10 player. I have also always thought that our staff is missing an Iowa State connection. We need someone who understands what it's like to feel success as a Cyclone and understands some Cyclone history. Lots of people talk how we need to do whatever it takes to get Harrison. He is one player that could potentially put ISU on his back and take us to a title. If that is the case, let's get Jake on staff in the near future to help make that happen. It just makes too much sense to me. I'm sure that hiring Jake is just not that simple, but "why not?" A lot of other schools do crazier things to get players to come to their school, not to mention bending or completly breaking the rules. This is just my opinion, and I guess that might not really mean squat. What's everyone else think. Who knows, maybe we could start a petition.

While I'm not against Jake being on staff, it isn't going to happen. Neither party is interested in the other. I also believe the program is much bigger than one player. HB is an important prospect, but if he doesn't happen for ISU, the program will continue forward.

the good programs do it all of the time. KU did it in '88 with Danny Manning's Dad and the last few years with Mario Chalmers dad. If I hear one more comment that we "build things the right way at ISU", I'm going to have a stroke.

Well yeah the program will continue forward, but the program will not grow as fast or be as good w/o him.
If we can land him, we can land other big time recruits. We will have success on the court which will help as well. It will just continue to help us

It is far more likely that JS will be hired by Kansas to secure a HB commitment.

I don't doubt that. HB is important to the speed at which the program will grow.
But, I've never liked the 'hire so and so to get so and so' practice. In fact, I think it should be banned by the NCAA. Packaged deals are somewhat shady. You can't pay the player so pay his dad, or aau coach, or friend. Fine line.

Completely agree with that. Hiring Sullivan wouldn't be quite as shady has he played here not so long ago, but like most have said it isn't going to happen

Also when Jake was back at ISU for the All-Century team he did not look happy to be there. Also he was the only one there that was not dressed up at all. He was wearing just a white cut-off sleeve t-shirt and jeans. It just seemed like he could care less about being there. That kind of mentality does not really fit into the way this program is being run.
