I've been thinking and thinking on this and can't come up with only 5. So I eliminated those players that I never saw or that weren't on radio broadcasts while growing up. Still can't do it.
I can say Tinsley would be my number one, Fizer number 2.
The next group... Grayer, Stevens, Hornacek, Hoiberg, Ivy, Cato.
Guys that would definitely not make the top 5 that have been listed quite a bit previously include Alexander & Willoughby. Excellent players, but not top 5. I'd be very hard pressed to disagree with 83Clone on his top 5, but just have too much fondness for memories of some of the other guys and the success they brought to ISU.
ISU fans are the greatest in the world. All they ask for is hope and the belief that we have a chance to win every time we step on the field - Johnny Majors (paraphrased)
Gary T. beat Wilt 4 years in a row. Also Danny Manning never beat ISU, during the Stevens, Grayer era. I know it is hard to compare Thompson to Tinsley, BUT Gary has to be 1st team. It is a toss up with about 7-9 guys, I don't think you can argue with any of the top guys.
