What doesn't make sense about that is why replace Pomlee with a wing player?
We don't know the position of the potential one year to play JUCO guy.
Why is that...lack of commitments?
I kind of feel the same way, but not because of a lack of commitments. There are only so few scholarships to offer. What concerns me is that we might end up with a class of a JUCO player and some random JUCO who can only play one year. That just doesn't sound like the kind of class a BCS conference school should be assembling. Granted I haven't seen Farmer play and I am thrilled that he's a great athlete. I haven't seen any of these guys play. I could be completely off, and I certainly hope I am.
Whiffing on our top targets. We knew coming in that this would be a small class, but, that in theory should give us more time to focus our efforts.
I agree with this as well. I really thought that in 2009 the staff would be big game hunting for one player that could come in and make a difference. Now it's a JUCO guy and a bunch more maybes we just got in on.
This is the fourth class that McD is bringing to Ames. I didn't picture after four years he'd still be going for 2 year players to fill holes. I'm sure he didn't either.
I'll stop now. I told myself I wouldn't comment on basketball again until the season unless it was happy talk.
