Harrison Barnes (take with a grain of salt)

I by no means consider myself an insider so please take it easy on me :). I was speaking to a close friend of mine who is a family friend to the family of Harrison Barnes girlfriend. He told me that Harrison is going to the same school as his girlfriend no matter what (puppy love will get you every time). Unfortunately Iowa State is not on the short list of schools that have offered his gf yet. Now I understand this is a he said she said type of deal yet still somewhat intriguing. If this is true, it would be great if Mac could talk Fennely into offering her a scholy. I heard she is a decent player too.
Anyways, maybe this topic has been discussed and if so I apologize, but still interesting nonetheless.
Also I don't believe we have mentioned his name yet on the board for a couple hours:smile:

I really hope that isn't true but interesting nevertheless.

I hope it would be that easy to get him.

I hope Bill would only offer a scholarship if he feels she's earned the scholarship (but yes, I have heard she's a good player..and getting homegrown talent helps). The moment at which we have coaches signing players to help other coaches out we're in deep trouble. Yes, he's a great player, but you can't ask another coach to do that if you're Mac. Not only does it make Mac look bad, but if BF would do it, it would make the whole program look bad.

so if Wartburg is the only school that offers her, Barnes will be in Waverly? I am over all this, just sitting back and crossing my fingers! :cool:

What grade is Barnes even in? Isn't he just going to be a Junior? How many girlfriends did all of you go through high school? A lot of things can change in a couple years and they might not even be going out by then. A lot of things can happen and it would be great if Barnes decided to go to Iowa State with or with out whoever his GF is.

and for the record, if his girlfriend would like to turn into Candace Parker and commit to Iowa State, we wouldn't mind :wideeyed:

If it's true, I can't say I blame the guy. I met my wife in high school, and the only school we both applied to was Iowa State. I guess you could say ISU recruited us as well, but academically, not athletically. Anyway, it's now 8 years after we met, we're happily married and very happy we both chose ISU. Who knows, Harrison might be in the same situation.

somebody needs to break them up. LOL jk

His GF, Trisha Nesbitt, already has offers from several good basketball schools, including Creighton.

I'm betting they won't even be together by the time college starts...
