2010 recruting overview

No one really has any idea how many open scholarships there will be for 2010. There are a lot of factors, but the Cyclones will sign 2-3 players in the class of 2010. Here's a quick break down of our main 2010 targets
1. Harrison Barnes, I'll just leave it at that
2. Kyle Kelm Offer? Y: A skilled multi-dimensional big man who is a great shooter, as of right now he has offers from Iowa, ISU, Marquette, Oregon State, and several mid majors. His top three is ISU, Marquette, and Oregon State, as of right now.
3. Chim Kadima Offer? Y: I was wrong on Kadima. Though not extremely impressive on offensive at the skills camp, he has come back from a bad injury that side lined him for a year, rated as the fourth best player in his class in Wisconsin (Behind the two wisconsin commits and Kelm) Chim is a great ball handler and defender, and is a very good shooter on the AAU circuit. I hope we can get Chim, but he is also being recruited very hard by Buzz Williams and Marquette, and Rick Pitino and the Louisville staff have watched several of his games this yar
4. Drew Parker Offer? Y:
Drew is a skilled one two combo from La Porte Texas. His dad, Andrew Parker, is the 12th leading scorer in ISU history. I haven't been able to find out much about Drew, but Kansas State and Duke are also recruiting him. We are his only offer to date
5. Lavonte Dority offer? Y: A skilled Sherron Collins clone out of Chicago. Seems to be a strong Indiana lean, with New Mexico as his other leader.
6. Anthony Johnson offer? Y: A dynamic scorer from Chicago, Anthony was offered by Iowa State after the skills camp. He is a stealth recruit of Ohio State, and they and Kentucky seem to be in the lead for him.
7. Brandon Spearman offer? Y: A great defender and a 4 star, he really likes ISU, who is his only offer to date, but more will probably be coming. Probably a will visit ISU in the fall
8. Elliot Eliason Offer? Not yet: A skilled center prospect from Nebraska, he already has NU and Colorado State offers, and may receive one from Iowa State
9. Zach McCabe: Harrison Barne's teammate on the Attack, Zach is a 6'8" Adam Morrison clone. (Even has the same hair, but luckily no moustache.) His favorite sport is football though, and he is a division 1 prospect at quarterback for Sioux City Heelan. I don't know if he will get an offer or not.
Other prospects of interest:

Flavien Davis: Another 4 star prospect from Wisconsin, Flavien has the most upside of any player in the state. He has a Marquette offer, and is close to getting one from Indiana. I don't know how serious ISU's interest is in Flavien right now
The 2010 class will end up being a great class for ISU, with or without Harrison Barnes.
Jordan Dykstra: Continuing to develop, Jordan is a 4-star on Rivals, and will be a great addition to the '10 frontcourt.

Andrew Parker could flat out stroke it. Lanky left hander-his son has a great pedigree.

Mind the gap!

McCabe is a 6'8" QB prospect? Is Gene giving him a look?

Marquis Mason...could probably scratch him off the list...Great basketball body, but staff was disappointed in what they saw.

Does Marquette have like 25 scholarships? It seems like everyone we look at has a Marquette scholarship.

If we just took legacy players with the remaining slots (Drew Parker, Harrison Barnes, Darius Stevens), that would still be one heck of a sweet class.

Why isn't there a "drool" smiley on here?

I'm not sure how many they have in '10, but they are technically out for '09..but they have still offered Darius Smith.

Marquette just called and offered me a schollarship. I don't even play basketball and I am 34 years old. Something is wrong there.

Yep, and if you look closely at football '09 recruiting, there are a bunch of kids who have Texas A&M as their leader. Since the Aggies already have 25 commits, that might not work out too well...
