As cold as his comments were, we have no proof to claim otherwise at the moment. This season will say whether or not the naysayers have some ground. Im not predicting a kick *** season, but watching them play should reveal the potential.

I have no faith in that prediction, I really would hate to see us finish worse than Colorado when we at least put fans in the stands...

I don't know if it's that far off. I really don't see how we will finish higher than 9th. I think 10th is realistic.

IMO, anything worse than 6th is a dissapointment.

Get ready to be dissapointed. Don't know how you can honestly think we would be much higher.

Fran likes ISU. He is one of the few media guys who gives us some respect. He must really feel as if we are going to be down. I predict 9th

The old lower expectations trick..sorry, I think it will be considered a great season if we finish 11th or better.

If we finish higher than 10th I will be VERY happy. I'm not expecting anything better than 10th. Tie for 10th is likely to me.

Fran's one of the best analysts out there, IMO. He might end up being wrong but not because he didn't do his homework.

Why do I feel such depression when I think of our BB program? The rebuilding just never ends...I'm sorry I don't mean to be such a sour **** but I don't think Fran is far off. I'm right with most on here, I don't see us higher than 9th/10th and we can easily end up 11th. We have so much to replace and so much inexperience. So for a 4th straight year we end up in the basement...

I honestly think that year in and year out the 9-12 spots in the standings are up for grabs. There usually isn't alot of separation in terms of talent....usually. I know that our talent is not there yet. I think the expectations would obviously be different if "He who must not be named" were still around, but I am not going to under estimate a bunch of guys who are willing to work hard and fight for each other...this is assuming that all of the previously posted articles are correct from the summer. I think the chemistry of the team could cause us to over achieve, but I have a hard time forseeing that happening. It will probably be another long year. I was glad it noted that Mac's rebuilding efforts have been undermined by injuries, departures, and Lucca Gate. I hope the team can really buy into what is going on in the program. Hopefully the football program can set the tone for the basketball team in terms of how good things can happen when you don't buy into what other people's expectations are.
