Alford is in New Mexico, and Seth Gorney graduated, I mean used up his eligibility.
Beyond that, they should be bad - real bad

I read through some of the other threads, and it looks like there's just a few drinking the kool-aid. Most of the other posters seem to realize this year is not likely to be much better than last year for Iowa.

Beyond that, they should be bad - real bad Really? Iowa has one of the easiest OOC schedules in the nation. They should pick up 11 wins easily (of course, as we saw last year, nothing was easy). 13 OOC wins isn't out of the question.
Win the Big Ten home games, and a win in the BTT, you have yourself a 20 win season.
For the record, I expect one or two games over .500 for Iowa. Still a year or two away from a good season. And I also don't think, even if Iowa reaches 20 wins, they'd make the NCAA - not by a long shot. But I don't think that expecting a winning season this year is too much to expect.

If Lucca is all he's cracked-up to be, Diante and Craig make expected improvements (don't have to be HUGE, but have to be big), and JVB, AT, or JH can play solid D/rebound, then i don't think 20 is out of the question. It would be a great season, but not unbelievable.

i think we match up well with the celtics from last year..............
There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams -
Re: Just for fun...
The week of September 12-14 Greg McDermott (Coach) and Ben Jacobson (Player) will be inducted into the University of North Dakota's Hall of Fame. In part because of their accomplishments with the 89-90 UND's Mens Basketball Team....
I believe there was a strecth from 89-94 that UND Mens progarm won around 50+ games at Home, then had a Loss and started another 40+ Home win streak....(Both Mac and Jake were part of).... They understand the below formula
That is the formula that (imo) Mac is trying to bring to ISU....You need to Win in the Non-Conference (very do-able), Establish Home Court Advantage and Win at Hilton (done before-can do again), and then work on being .500 on the road ( we have been competetive).......
Do this and a 18-20 win Season is a reality...... -

Obviously you have more info about the team than I do, so what things make you think we will win 7 more games this year? What will change from last year to this year to get us to +20 wins? Losing Wes decidedly counts against last year.
Having decent post play, Lucca, and incremental experience (along with a substantial loss of talent in the conference) suggests an improved W-L.
