Intersting little fact that I missed...

That accident in July 2007 kept Kadima, once a top-50 recruit in the class of 2010, off the court for a full year. At one point Kadima says he thought he’d never return to basketball, but he guaranteed his future Tuesday by verbally committing to play at Iowa State.

Well I hope he comes back to his old form. I remember thinking Roy Marble was the second coming of Michael Jordon until he broke his leg. He was never the same player after that.

Very nice article. I'm hoping that this is the kid everyone was saying played well with Harrison at the Skills camp--like Craig, they were on the same page, he knew how to get him the ball. Sounds a lot like JT, in that way. I'm excited about getting him, and I think we'll watch him climb the charts the next two seasons.

But I do have to say that I wish that "guaranteeing your future" were as simple as merely deciding to attend Iowa State.

]Kadima has a chance to be a good one. I think he will end up being strong and physical as well as have length. I always liked how he handled himself on the floor.

I'll preface this by acknowledging I've never seen him play a full game, just highlights, but have read quite a few articles and first-hand reports.

Reportedly he hasn't missed a bit since returning from his torn ACL. In fact, he seemingly became a more highly rated prospect afterward than before. A degree is his continued physical growth and another has been his AAU performances this summer.

Kadima and Kelm are the only in-staters from '10 that Wisconsin continued to stay in contact with following the fulfillment of their schollie allotment. That tells me two things about Kadima: 1. he must play a disciplined rather than streetball style, and 2. the Wisconsin staff has identified him as the 3rd or 4th best player in state, in what, as you know, is a loaded class.

My observation from the highlights are that he doesn't play a game predicated on quickness....so I'm not surprised he has made a seamless transition from couch to gym following the injury. I've read places that he was an athlete, but I didn't see it as much of an asset over opponents. Smooth ball-handler. Would have great size for a point guard and actually could play anywhere from the 1-3. I guess it would depend what style of offense you run. Could play point guard in a halfcourt like the Badgers play or 2-3 in a fullcourt or mix. I guess I'd prefer he play the 2-3 so he wouldn't have such a quickness disadvantage and could use the handle to get in the lane. Not a lights out shooter but pretty good. Good enough to draw pressure and find teammates in the lane. I doubt he'll be attacking the hoop much. Think a poor man's Chauncey Billups on both ends of the court.

So did Kadima break his leg or have an ACL? I've read both here...kind of makes me nervous we are hoping Kadima and Gilstrap both recover from pretty serious injuries. I could be worrying for nothing but still..

Broke his leg...I think he had it wrong.

Sounds as though the coaches have watched both guys work out several times (Chim and Gil were both here Saturday and played in the scrimmage, correct?). Hope the coaches wouldn't offer unless they were certain all was OK.
