Charles Boozer
Any chance that Charles pays his own way in 09? It just seems that somebody will be an odd man out. We are still going hard after a few kids for 09 and even 2010. The problem is the scholly situation. I know we will figure out what to do if HB decides to come but where in god's green earth will we get one if we get one more 09 player? Since Charles has a rich brother my guess might be he pays his own way or another player will transfer or pay his own way. What is your opinion

Re: Charles Boozer
I honestly hope he improves enough to keep his scholly. But if he sits on his hands and doesnt improve then I would think they would probably pull it.

Re: Charles Boozer
A scholarship player will not pay his own way period. It would be terrible for recruiting and for a coach to ask a player to do that would be ridiculous.
You recruited him by offering a scholarship you can't take it away because you want to add another kid in '09.

Re: Charles Boozer
I believe it has been said here a few times that there will be a scholly open in 09 ... and not for bad reasons.

Re: Charles Boozer
He is not going to give up his scholly. It's not about the money, but rather pride. It would look really really bad if McDermott even asked.
I think the coaches have put themselves in a bad situation

I don't. All will be fine.

-keep. So are you saying that Brackins will be going pro after this year? That would be nice, but unless he improved a ton, I don't have your optimism. He's a good player, but still needs o TON of work.

Re: Charles Boozer
We did have scholly problems when we lost two...I don't consider competition bad. In fact, we need it to get better. If you guys want to worry about scholly situation that's fine, but trust me there is nothing to worry about.

I am not worried about it. Just curious as to what is going to happen. There has to be an odd man out somewhere and the coaches have a decision to make. Obviously if we are going after other players something is not right with someone or someone is transfering.
That is all. Just speculation. I hope we do get better players and send the guys that are not capable of contributing to a different school where they can compete. That is not a bad thing to tell a guy that he is probably not going to play and might want to go somewhere he can get some minutes and contribute.

These things always seem to work themselves out, not always for the best, but they do work themselves out.
McD will not ask Boozer to pay his own way

Well the NBA scouts would disagree with you. They have him as the 10th ranked player in 2010

Guys Brackins probably could have been drafted after last year on potential alone. There have been much worse players than him that have been drafted in the past b/c of it.

Re: Charles Boozer
I think we can all agree Brackins has potential. He is going to have an opportunity really sell himself with all the touches he is going to get. One thing I can say is I love is approach and attitude.
