I would think Harrison Barnes would want to go to a school where the head coach can block his shot - who else could but GMac?

This sounds like a really bad 80's cop show... "McDermott and Tubby" tonight at 9 on CBS.

    I gotcha!

You know, the Ignore List (this thought just came to me) here allows one to parrot "real" life. That is, as we go about our daily business, by and large we choose who we will and who we will not associate with. Here, the Ignore List pretty much allows one to accomplish the same end.

Love that Ignore List; it's an essential tool here.

    Re: McDermott and Tubby

Maybe it wasn't worded right but if you think GMac isn't going to try to learn something at a coaches clinic you would be wrong. Or if he isn't there is something wrong. He doens't know everything, neither does Tubby so I am sure they will both be talking about sets, philosphy, recruiting, etc.

And to cut down what Tubby Smith has done in his career is silly. He has won a national title, I don't care who recruited the players. He has never had a losing season, that is kind of a big deal. He is a heck of a coach.

Please, please add me to the list. As anyone lame enough to post his/her ignore list isn't someone I'd really want conversing with me anyways. :)

I'll never knock McDermott as an X's and O's guy. I believe he knows his stuff in that regard. It's a matter of the other things, but I'm sure I'll hash that out in other threads.

I'm one ISU fan who won't use one individual as a means to mount a flank attack on another individual. Maybe some here interpreted the remark as a way to use Tubby's record to thrust a spear into Mac's chest.

It kinda read that way to me.

I stand with our own, the coaches who wear Cardinal and Gold into athletics battles; aside from that, I'm one of the legion here who believes Mac is the right guy for the ISU job, who believes good times are coming.

Believing that, we won't stand by wordlessly IF we believe someone is attacking Mac in a nasty way.

Tubby is an outstanding guy who deserves every plaudit he receives. But, if it comes down to backing the fellow wearing Maroon and Gold or the fellow donned in Cardinal and Gold, it's no contest.

Boy, today I'm feeling badly for Tubby, since someone here posted that his nephew was just stabbed to death. (I'm a Liberal, so please pardon my touchy-feely sentiments. . . .)

Since I happened to make the list I want to say for the record that I have a new basketball mindset. I have scarcely commented in any basketball threads and when I do I try to make it positive. I don't have an axe to grind and I respect our coaches a lot. I figure I'll let it play out on the court.

I used to have a few on the ol' ignore list but this place is about opinions and I don't consider any one more valid than another.

Too bad he will never know it!

Oh wait... now that I have quoted you he will know it.

Same here. I still have season tickets, and while it won't matter as much this year if I ultimately miss a few games (whereas I wouldn't in the past), I'm still 100% in support of the program in and of itself.
