They haven't done any site-work in the past 3 weeks. They may possibly be done with the site-work and I saw a survey crew out there Monday setting stakes so it's a step in the right direction. I would think they would want to get going on pouring footings and slab on grade before it gets too cold out.
I live real close to it so I'll try to post photos periodically to show the progress. But scottie and bmuff are right, it's just been earthwork so far.
I walked right by Dickson Jensen at the football game and thought about asking him when we would see something but he was talking to someone else at the time.
The construction happening for Cyclones Athletics this next year. New east concourse, new BB practice facility, renovating old BB offices into a club section. I'm I missing something? What an exciting time for ISU.

anything other than grading yet?
Yes...Surveyors have been out there this past week putting of stakes for foundations to be excavated. Earlier this week the mobilized a track excavator, track front-end loader, track excavator with vibrator out there. Those pieces of equipment are going to be used for your excavation of footings. I would expect them to be started early next week after the rain we got early this week. Shouldn't be too many footings to excavate and pour but I would assume they don't want their equipment sitting out there for more than a week losing money. Anytime you have equipment on the job and it's not running, you are losing some pretty good bank.Quote:

Yeah, if it was cast in place concrete I could see a problem as well as masonry because you can't lay that under a certain temp. even with wind barrier. If they are putting up pre-cast panels this isn't a problem as those are easily put up whether cold or not. I wish I could see the drawings of the building. It'd be interesting to see their approach on such project.Quote:

I have never heard of precast footings. All footings I have heard of are formed and poured or they are excavated and poured. The precast we are talking about are the exterior walls of the structure. These are made in a factory and shipped to the site and put up via a crane. These are real easy to install and quick. As long as all the foundations are done before the ground freezes we'll be good to go. The worse part about doing earthwork in the winter is busting the frost out of the ground. They should be easily done with footings before the ground freezesQuote:
