You may as well join the majority of Cyclone fans who are tight wads. For the KU game, a guy who makes $200k per year offered me $40 total for two $60 tix. I know a lawyer who flies his own plane to games, but his "game" is to get in the gates for free (he usually does unless it's Iowa). I can see where students want to get in on the cheap, but there are a lot of ISU fans who are well off that don't help the cause.
Set our sights lower on the advice of Peter LaFluer (Dodgeball)! It works!
"I've found that if you have a goal that you might not reach it but if you don't have one, then you are never disappointed. And I gotta tell you, it feals phenomenal" - Peter LaFluer (Dodgeball)
>>>Great Post Knownothing.
I agree....on most points here. We're young, inexperienced, takes time...I understand.
But....as a fan, donor, season tix holder for both sports- fball and mbb--you'd like to see something building. Granted, maybe (and it probably is) more of a Waco hangover. But knownothing is right...no post season since 2005, fans have a right to voice out.
Fball and Men's bball are the most watched and attended sports and when you've had some mild sucess in both...expectations are raised.
With it being year 3 of bball....and by all accounts...potentially another long season of peaks and valleys...post-season is still "another" year away.
Fball...year 2 will be no bowl, by all accounts. And after nearly beating KU..we get completely worked over by a Baylor program in their first year of rebuilding.
We're still fans...but some frustration in building growth is completely valid.
The frustration with the football team has certainly put a lot of extra pressure on the MBB team - fair or not.
But the "you better win or else" attitude is quite amusing.
Yeah, that was bad planning by the athletic department for a school full of engineers. As an engineer, when a I see a reasonbly sized piece of paper laying around serving no real useful purpose, my first instinct is to make an airplane out of it. Especially a pretty yellow piece of paper. I was way up in the balcony, so mine didn't make it to the floor...
