Re: Record projections for this year
I think the attitude pbjt22 is talking about is the away Nebraska game for example...This would have been kept in house if WJ didn't transfer...I know WJ was hurt, but he didn't bring his shoes to the Nebraska game, when Mac asked him when he could play on it again he said tomorrow. How can he not play in a game, but practice the next day? Mac was challenging his toughness...similar to Bates...It's a coaches job to push them.

Thank you KG. That's exactly the story I'm talking about.

Re: Record projections for this year
ok honestly i think non-conference the only games we could lose would be @houston, @iowa (just because in basketball the home team normally wins), @UNI but i doubt it, and i see us winning the rest of the games im gunna say 12-3, because everyone is teams no one knows and oregon state with a new coach, and they finished like with only 6 wins last year i think, i think 17-19 wins would be a good season

This is still not a typical Big XII team yet where you can say we will be able to roll our non-conference games. Hopefully that's in the pipeline, but we're going to struggle this year and finish a few from the bottom of the conference standings.

It's important to push for guys to be tougher.
I just read the Fennelly story and in it they interviewed players who talked about how he was very hard on them but he was a great communicator and they always knew why shortly thereafter. It's good to push people to excel but not push too hard.
Obviously you guys know more about the program than I do and that's fine. But in my opinion it is easy to say oh he left because he's got a bad attitude. Maybe he didn't want to play that day because he felt like he was too hurt to be effective on the floor but he could gut through the practice the next day. Maybe he didn't play because he was concerned about how he would hold up on the floor. Maybe it was just because he had a bad attitude.
Listen I don't know these things for sure. But I think your proximity to the program and the people responsible for it may cause you to deflect any blame away from the coaching staff. I'm not blaming the coaching staff but to just discount the WJ thing as him having a bad attitude would imply that there is nothing to be learned from the actions of everyone involved. This is my last comment on this, I know the season is starting soon and I am excited to watch it unfold. This is the time to get excited and I definitely am.

Re: Record projections for this year
My prediciton last year from the link:"I think we will end up at 15-15 and lose in the first round of the Big XII tourney in OK City."
We did exactly that and I forgot, I guess I will say 25-6 before the tournament and 26-7 after we lose in the 2nd round of the Big 12 tournament. I say this only because I hope for it to come true like last year, not because I believe it.
In all honesty I would say 11-4 in non-conference and 5-11 in conference, therefore 16-15 and after Big 12 tournament 16-16.

Re: Record projections for this year
Projections at this time of year, even 5-10 games into the season are not easy.
Looking back, in the 99-00 season we only lost 5 games. Michigan St. in the tourney, 2 OT losses in the B12 on the road, Cincinnati in Hawaii, and guess what...at Drake, the 2nd game of the year. Tell me anybody predicted any of that at the start of that year.
The next year, winning the B12 against all odds again, we only lost 6 games (baylor and hampton to end the year). But our first game of the year it took 2 OT's to beat MORNINGSIDE! I would have liked to see this board after that game.
So, projections, while fun to read and discuss, pretty much mean nothing. I don't like hashing out the labor pains until I see the baby.

Re: Record projections for this year
Our team needs one more athletic inside rebounder or we better not pull a sean haluska from start of last year. Speaking of Sean, I expect great play from him this year. He may be our leading scorer. Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I'm basically just chalking up most road games as losses.

NHL teams need to be added to the favorite teams section.
