Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
Information gets leaked on these closed practices all the time. Last year we knew that Beasley scored 40 against Marguette

Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
Coach McDermott mentioned that they need to cut down on their turnovers, sounds like a broken record from last season. I hope we are much better in that category this year.

Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
I see no benefit in playing Creighton. Are we trying to recruit Omaha? The Mo Valley schools to play Big 12 schools so they can get more respect, its a lose-lose for us.
If they would do a 2 for 1 series, it would make sense, but otherwise, ISU would be better off to play Wisconsin, Minnesota or another big name school to get some exposure.

Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
This quote from Mac kind of explains why they played this...
This was the first time ISU has conducted a closed scrimmage for one of its exhibitions. Did you like the format?
“What we gained from this compared to an exhibition game is too much to even measure. This is better than any practice you could have and better than any exhibition you could play. Because of the situations that are created, the guys are putting on the uniform, they feel the pressure and they feel live game situations. All in all, it was a huge benefit to us.”

In other words, it was a practice. How are you expecting ISU to get good exposure for a practice? And like I said before, Creighton does not need Iowa State to gain respect. I'm sure they beat them in the scrimmage anyway.

I guess some will take any win they can get.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I don't think that poster was talking about the scrimmage, rather the debate on whether we should start a real series with them.

The main question: Did P'Allen Stinnett turn you guys down again?
Creighton > ISU
Altman > McDermott

I agree that Creighton's program is better than ours right now, but it remains to be seen who is the better coach in the long term. I think Altman's a good coach.
Were you looking for an argument or something?
