Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
In the next few weeks, the Creighton men's basketball team will visit Ames to scrimmage the Cyclones. Unfortunately, due to NCAA rules, the scrimmage will be closed (doors locked) to all media, the public, and the score cannot be announced. Creighton should be pretty good this year. This might be a good measuring stick for Coach Mac and the boys.

Bad boy, Tim Floyd, for canceling the Creighton series.

Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
I'd love to get the Creighton series back.
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
We already have Drake and UNI on the schedule from the Valley. And why would you play against a team from the valley that the coach has only beatin once or twice in his career. His career against Altman hasn't been good. Even with those good teams at UNI he struggled against Creighton

Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
This series makes more sense now than ever. Back when we did play them, Creighton didn't have the program success and national name recognition they have today. Now we need to get this series going again. They have a great arena, and so do we. This could be a TV game and not far to travel for either fan base.

Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
It's pretty sad we've gotten to the point people want to wait until we're good enough to play Creighton! Come On!

Maybe sad...it's just the way it is...when there is a train wreck...you have to pick up the pieces and get back on track...There are a lot of people that don't understand what is all involved and the time it takes...We could argue all day, but in the end it's the truth.

Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
I don't get it, what's the deal with this rule, why is it a closed game? I wondered why there was only one exhibition game on the schedule. Why can't the score even be announced? Can KG post the score on here? -

Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
I believe the NCAA prohibits media, the public, etc. at scrimmages in order to keep the contest a mere scrimmage, and not blow it out of proportion. This is kind of like what is happening with Midnight Madness right now. Coaches and universities can start practice at 12 a.m. so what do they do? They make the first day of practice some huge event. Does that argument make sense?

Re: Creighton vs. ISU scrimmage
Creighton has some shooters this year.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
