Cyclone Alley Practice Watch
I just got back from the team pracitce. They look a lot better than they did at this time last year. This team seems to be full of shooters. Hamilton has a ton of potential and looked like the best big guy out there. Petey was playing well and making his threes. Boozer made a few threes. Brackins looked solid. Lucca didn't practice, but was walking around just fine (no limp). Diante did a great job driving to the basket, his ball handling improved a lot. Overall, they look a lot better than they did last year and they seem to have a lot of team chemisty. I'm really looking forward to them playing this weekend! When Prepared, Fear No One. -

What the hell? Why didn't they email people in Cyclone Alley about this?

Re: Cyclone Alley Practice Watch
I never got the email either, I just heard about it from a friend. I was wondering why there wasn't many people there... There were probably 20 people there. They even had a grill out and gave away autographed basketballs and front row tickets.

Great to get the update. Thanks.

They didn't do that when I was there. I seem to always be optimistic, but especially this year. Usually there are a few players on every team that I get nervous when they are put in. I don't know of any this year. Then again I have never seen half the players. Can't wait to get started and forget about football. Go Clones.

When they were playin on the same team, Hamilton was playing 5 and Brackins at the 4. If they improve their defense, we could be pretty good down low. And with the good shooters we have, we have the potential to be pretty good. Of course, its hard to tell when we are playing against ourselves. It'll be interesting to see how they do against Big 12 talent.

I won the autograph basketball by the way
And fyi, for any of you that don't think recruits pay attention to the student section/crowd at the games...then you need to ask McD one of the biggest reasons why Dominique Buckley came to ISU. He brought the point out and mentioned that the biggest factor in why DB came to ISU was because of the student section against KU when he visitied.
I saw the same thing cyclonedave25 saw. Really focused on pushing the ball up the court with fast pace and moving the ball around the court and looking for that extra pass. One thing I was amazed at was McD's emphasis on AT's foul with 12 seconds left on the shot clock I believe...he really got him about that.
A couple things I noticed, Brackins had some really good moves, and I loved the post to post play we had in there. Also, the drive and dish was pretty nice looking. We have some shooters, and petey was knocking them down consistently from outside...diss him all you like walk-on haters but he was hot from deep. At one time I believe it was Petey, Haluska, Brackins, DG, and Hamilton/Thompson on the court.
Lucca didn't practice like cyclonedave said but he was there afterwards playing knock out with cyclone alley and he got second...he got beat by the woman's bball player from south dakota at the end. Eikmeier came out after practice as well and was shooting with the boot on

Re: Cyclone Alley Practice Watch
is there any word on when lucca will be back? or is it still day to day?
There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams -

He was shooting during knock-out off of one leg, and a couple times cam lee came up and swatted the ball pretty much off the court and lucca took off after it and got the ball and drove and put it up...still had a little limp but he's looking better than I had thought!!
