Re: Mic'd Up
He constantly teaches them the team concept, sticking together, working through this stuff, knowing other players' strengths and weaknesses, unselfishness, and the importance of winning.
I am a lot more impressed with him after watching that, and I'm a big supporter of this guy. I love his ability to challenge them while building them. There's some potential here! -

Re: Mic'd Up
I like when he was talking to Lucca in the first clip, especially when he was telling him to make sure he keeps working out and doing is pool workouts so he doesn't get a belly. I laughed a little bit

One thing, however, is that after last season there was a discussion of whether Mac was a good communicator to his players. Many suggested there may have been a disconnect between him and his players, especially WJ. From these clips, I think he does a great job of keeping things light but also knowing when to get on the guys. He has a good sense of humor and it looks like he makes an effort to have a relationship with the players. Of course, these clips weren't very long, but I was encouraged.

Just playing devils advocate but it's not like he didn't know he was being taped and mic'd... Agree with the others, nothing I haven't seen, nothing like a Eustacey practice, there is no way those could have been taped...

I can't see many coaches, especially McD, changing the way they approach a practice because they are mic'd. Preparation and practice time seem too valuable to be played with. These are their jobs after all.

I'm sure there were some colorful words that needed to be edited out...

I'm not saying he never swears but I know McD has told players that swearing isn't allowed. I would think that he abides by that rule as well.

Re: Mic'd Up
Its neat to watch how he coaches practice. If you take things he says the wrong way and take it personal it would cause you to want to be elsewhere, but if you take it the way right way he could make you a great player.
