Our Weakest Non-Conference Schedule Ever?

The rankings are from the last year. You never know what these team will do this year. Good example would be Drake last year, they were bad the year before but they turned out to be top 20 teams in the country. I would love to have ISU play against top 10 big time programs(UNC, Duke, Arizona, UCLA etc), but we are just not quite to the level yet, so it will be good for them to gain confidence through easier non-conference schedule.

I agree. At this point, I think we just need to build some confidence with some wins. We can worry about playing tougher opponents when we start competing for a national championship.

That's about how you could describe it after the Drake game last year.

We got ambushed from the start of that one, and we didn't yet know just how good Drake was.

To me, the in-state games are very important this year. All are winnable-all are loseable. McDermott has struggled, going 1-5 in two years against in-state competition.

That being said, there are still a lot of people on this board that refuse to admit that Drake WAS good last year and we STILL had no business losing to them.

Another few people here knew that Drake would be the best team in the state...

By year end, Drake again... But I think they may get off to a slow start due to the new system. Unfortunately, I see Iowa winning the mythical state title this year...

Oh, sorry, but thanks, I needed a good laugh. Seriously.

I think we have as good a shot of winning the mythical state title as anyone. It won't be Iowa. Not with "crappy" for a point guard, and a low post rotation that goes three deep--with one of them being a 6-6 freshman small forward. Even if he does a WJ.
