Colvin to verbal on the 19th?
So does anyone have any insider info on what might happen with Chris Colvin. He sure would be a great addition. Especially if Buckley is not comming along as well as I hoped. Noticed I said the way I hoped. He might be just where the staff wants him. I just thought he would be better. So any word on Colvin?

I certainly hope we get him because we would be very good next if we get him IMO.
PG: Colvin/Buckley
SG: Garrett

He hasn't really been given the minutes to show what he is capable of. Buckley will be a key reserve for this team as the season goes on. I'm not sure what you were expecting of him, but he's just three games into his career.

I just expected more minutes from him. I expected less from Wes Eichmier but he has shown he is really going to be good.

You left out Hamilton, Eikmeier, Pomlee, Mann and Christopherson. That's a lot of potential on that team next year!

Give Buckley time. This time last year, Diante was the turnover that walked like a man. Now he's in full control, and looks to be an outstanding point guard.

Illinois fans think Iowa State is the team to beat.

C: JVB No way is DG a shooting guard. He is a pure point guard and will stay that way...

Re: Colvin to verbal on the 19th
Buckley is fine...just in learning mode. Similar to DG last year, but DG was forced to play.
Would not surprise me to see DG slide to 2 at times next year.

Re: Colvin to verbal on the 19th
So, next year, if we get Colvin, we should have:
PG: Garret, Buckley, Colvin
SG: Eikmeier, Christoferson
3G (not really SF): Lucca, the JUCO guard (what's his name....doh)
That's a lot of guards in the rotation!

Re: Colvin to verbal on the 19th
When you run a 3 guard offense you need a bunch of guards. Your even forgetting about Boozer. Look at the Providence offense a few years ago. They ran a 3 guard offense and had a PF that could shoot the 3. They caused teams nightmares trying to defend them. Hopefully Gmac will get this thing rolling soon.

That's a lot of guards in the rotation! Yes, but they all bring different things to the table...Gives the coaching staff options and being able to throw different looks at a defense.

Dude, you're a kind of jerky. I sure hope Buckley doesn't read your post. The guy has played parts of 3 games as a Cyclone and you are already talking about him not measuring up?? Wonder how you would react if people at your company started talking about you as 'not measuring up' after 3 hours of working at a company.
