One thing I would like to see this year
I would like to see us upset a top 25 team at home this year. We have come so close the past 2 years in doing so. We should have beaten Kansas 2 years ago, stupid Brandon Rush and we should have beaten Texas last year, stupid AJ Abrams. Greg has yet to have a marquee win at home or anywhere in the 2 years he has been here. They players need to get over that hump this year and get Hilton magic back rolling in full force.

I'd take a win over a team that finishes in the top half of the conference, we haven't had one of those since Gmac's first game in the Big 12.

How about we get a win vs. a MVC first! -

I'd love to have a win tomorrow night, too. That game scares the crap outta me.

I hope so too, but I'm also up for some baby steps along the way. We've got Oklahoma at home this year, and I'm telling you we're not beating them unless they have injuries. Nothing against us; they're just that good in so many phases of the game.
If Kansas is ranked, I could see us beating them, however. Time will tell though. I have a little bit of a feeling they're currently ranked because of the program's name, but who knows.
It's also hard to say who will be ranked by the time the conference schedule starts.
All I know, is that this will be the best year for us in a few! I want to see some excitement at home, but I know many will be excited just to see some conference wins and to be respected in the Big XII. If we beat some ranked teams, I'm all for it!
I don't drink the Kool-Aid, and I am done making excuses. Only keeping it real... -

Re: One thing I would like to see this year
I'd like to see each of these happen! Why not beat an MVC team as a warm-up to beating a Top 25 team? Why not beat one when it's not looked at as an upset?
The last part might be too much for this year. It's too early to get that far ahead of myself, but it's possible.

Re: One thing I would like to see this year
I would just like to see us become tough at home, period. I think the first step is to protect home court, and we certainly have the crowds to give the team a boost. On a related note, anyone see Carver Hawkeye for the Iowa-Oakland game? Empty as could be. -
Re: One thing I would like to see this year
I would like to win a conference tournament game.
I would want to win 90% non conference.
I would want to shoiot at least 45% if possible.
I would like to win some rebound contests.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Re: One thing I would like to see this year
I think we have a better shot at OU than KU. Did anyone catch Gardner-Webb taking OU to the wire? They have work to do. Obviously they are better than us by a lot right now, but I think KU might be better than OU.

Sure, Gardner Webb took OU to the wire, but UMKC was tied with KU at half and was in the game until five minutes left, and that was at Lawrence, not a neutral site. And OU has beaten Davidson and USC, KU hasn't played anyone yet.
Point is, until you play 10 games, it's tough to know what a team's identity is. Personally, i think OU is a great team and KU is overrated. But i'd be more comfortable saying that after Dec 15th.

Re: One thing I would like to see this year
This is what I would like to see accomplished this season...
1.Beat teams in the MVC
2.Win at Least a few Big 12 road games!
3.Finish middle or top half of conference(probably middle with our youth)
4.Win at least a Big 12 tournament game
5.Possibly NIT

Re: One thing I would like to see this year
I would like to see us not finish 12th in the Big 12. I'll start there and adjust as we go.
