I'm still not sure I understand our scholarship situation. I'm assuming we have enough for Kelm and Barnes to commit?

Current scholarship players that are getting recruited over will see the writing on the wall and depart to another university in order to see playing time. Trust the coaches on this one as they will take care of the scholarship situation in due time.

Obviously someone will be transferring or quiting. And if Barnes wants to commit, then another one would have to leave I believe?
I'm guessing there will always be "room" for Barnes if he wants to come.

Even though the talent on the team is getting better, there still needs to be much better talent on the team so it can get back the winning Big 12 titles. I am sure McD and staff are very aware of that.

Let McDermott and staff worry about the scholarship situ. I see young players on the bench who probably aren't going to climb to PT ladder given the even younger players ahead of them. It will work itself out.

This 2010 recruiting class is looking pretty good. Hope it pans out

It does work itself out, but if I was one of the players who could see the writing on the wall, why not leave now? Why burn another year sitting on the bench?
The only problem for ISU is that would mean we have less schollie players on the team, but GMac has to realize he can't expect players to stay if he's recruiting over them.

Dykstra, Kadima already in the fold the year after, with Kelm and Barnes as possibilities. Staten already verbally committed. Slowly, but surely, McDermott seems to be getting some stabilization and talent in place. Hopefully, people remain patient. I am still pretty confident that he is a good fit for Iowa State and will have success that will satisfy all of us (ok, most of us....some won't be satisfied without multiple national championships)
