All you hobnobing fatcats and insiders
need to make it real clear to Pollard and company that this has to be the last yr for the horrible nonexistent tv lineup for mens basketball. From early November to Jan 10 there is 1 non conference, non instate game on? That is outrageous and barbaric!. Alot of people in the state dont or cant get Mediacon. I think this is destructive to the fan base and backwards as hell. ISU should be televising EVERY game possible just to drum up a following and keep ISU on peoples mind. Out of site is truly out of mind. Channel 17 or 23 could be broadcasting the nonconference games. Why do you think this is a Hawkeye state? Because of saturation and media brainwashing i say. Now is the time to reverse that, especially with Iowa having the same nonexistent non conference tv schedule.
Re: All you hobnobing fatcats and insiders
I'm sure he is well aware of these concerns.

Re: All you hobnobing fatcats and insiders
No mention of how good Petey is and now dumb people are for not liking him?
You're slipping, copenhagen...
Re: All you hobnobing fatcats and insiders
I'll pass on the message at our next Inside Hobnobbing meeting with Pollard.
Or maybe I'll wait until the Elbow Rubbing colloquium.
Re: All you hobnobing fatcats and insiders
We have a basketball team? I have not seen them play so I had no idea we even had one.

What about the "pressing the flesh luncheon"? Seems that would be a much more fitting time.
Re: All you hobnobing fatcats and insiders
Here in KC i can practically watch all of the conference games on Metro Sports.

31 games
24 are on TV (23 of which are national or on FullCourt).
5 are on Clone Zone.
1 was webcast by the host school (Hawaii).
1 won't be available at all (at Houston).
In all, there will be video content available for 30 of 31 games, plus the Big 12 tournament.
When the team doesn't win, it trickles down to TV selection. The big networks (ABC/ESPN) choose less games. The Big 12/ESPN+ syndication chooses less games. CTN uses all of their picks to cover the conference games. Mediacom uses its picks for the best remaining non-conference games.
For example, CTN only had to fill 3 conference games last year. This year, that number is up to 6. Why? Losing.
As with everything else, it all comes down to winning.

You realize we only have two non-conference, out-of-state games during that time period, don't you?
Beyond that, the only regular season games that weren't on TV were against UC-Davis, Loyola-Marymount, and UW-Milwaukee. Not exactly marquee match-ups.
It's too bad that not all of our games are on TV, but some of you guys are making it sound like we only have three games scheduled for TV all year.

There is Jamie Pollard. I wondered where you were at.
Re: All you hobnobing fatcats and insiders
It was AWESOME when all of our games were on ABC. Never missed a game. But of course, Hawk fans couldn't have that and they ended our relationship with channel 5. Didn't they?
Re: All you hobnobing fatcats and insiders
I beleive Mr Pollard's email is well known by the public and he pretty much always responds.
Just a thought.

Iowa fans ended ISU's relationship with Channel 5?

I am probably wrong here, but wasn't their a huge Hawk donor who basically was the one who ended Iowa States run w/ Channel 5? I don't remember the guys name, but I am sure some on here do.
