Re: Lucca
Doesn't matter how Lucca did last night, he can cut metal with his laser beam eyes. Did you know that he uses a steel wire brush to clean his teeth? It's best that you don't question his performance. -

Re: Lucca
Give him some time to get his legs back under him and some more minutes and he'll settle into his game. He's only what 4 or 5 games back off of knee surgery so I'm sure he doesn't have full mobility or confidence in his knee at this point. Plus I'm sure the coaching staff is watching his minutes pretty closely to ensure he is healthy when the conference schedule comes around.

Re: Lucca
I thought when he finally drove it to the hole he looked good. He had one basket where he took that little white fella (moron or something) off the dribble. It only took him 2 steps to get from the 3 point line to the hoop. He may have pushed off a bit but I thought it was a pretty strong drive considering he is a 3 point shooter with a bum wheel.

Re: Lucca
Very unusual shooting stats so far this year.
22 3-pt fg attempts, 4 2-pt fg attempts, zero free throws.
Hasn't really put the ball on the floor and dribbled past people much yet this year, although he did have one nice drive to the basket last night.

Re: Lucca
Hmm, why would Lucca look slow and rusty? Could it be that he is just over a month removed from knee surgery?. Or perhaps the fact that he is essentially a freshman when it comes to D1 basketball. Maybe it could be the offseason he spent playing highly competitive ball overseas? He will be fine, let the knee rehab, let him get into the flow and let him figure out what it takes to succeed in D1 ball.

Re: Lucca
There's no question he is still favoring that knee a little.

But in all seriousness, I like his size and ability to take a defender out of the double down defense game because they always need to stay true to him. When he settles in and is comfortable driving and dishing I think he will come into his own. Creating space to nail those 3 pointers will be his biggest growing pain.
Like Cory Johnson?

Re: Lucca

Re: Lucca
Lucca probably is starting in order to prepare for Big 12 play in Jan and to help McD rub the eyes of the Nasty College of Anal Airheads (NCAA).

I heard GM mention that he wanted some experience coming off the bench so he switched Haluska and Lucca.
