Just a little bit of a rollercoaster around here. Let's give these guys a chance to settle in, before we start predicting any greatness.
Looked to me like Diante and Craig are the ones who are starting to emerge as leaders. Leadership has nothing to do with greatness, it has to do with who motivates the team. And it sure seemed like Wes was the biggest motivator in the locker room.

Wes E has already shown more consistent leadership through the course of the year than Brackins or Diante IMO.

Gotta disagree with you there...Wes has shown a ton of confidence and potential, but on the road at Hawaii he looked like a freshman (which is ok, because he obviously is), and when the chips have been down this year Diante has been our guy...I think Craig is the vocal leader, and Diante is the leader on the court. Against Cal-Davis, Diante takes the shot (and makes it) to win the game...against Hawaii when the offense is struggling Diante takes over, and last night come crunch time (when leaders step up) Diante takes over in overtime...on the court you find out who your leader is when you are put in tough situations, and in crunch time Garrett has been our guy.

He was sick and not 100% in Hawaii.

I don't care who took any shots in the Cal Davis game, Diante showed NO leadership in that game, AT ALL. You said yourself you find out in tough situations. When Cal-Davis was pulling away both Diante and Craig were hanging their heads, slumping their shoulders, and didn't say a word. Who picked them up vocally and with their play? Wes...

Re: Cyclone postgame locker room video
So I'm going to suggest this thread has now been hijacked into one that deals more with who and who are not the leaders on this squad, instead of being a neat glimpse into a victorious locker room after a solid road victory. -
Re: Cyclone postgame locker room video
True...but he still played like a freshman, sick or not...my main point is that whenever things have looked bleak, or it's been a tight game late, and we've been looking for someone to step up-it's been Garrett...not a rip on Wes at all as I've been very impressed with him this year and am excited to see him progress throughout the next four years.

Not my intentions at all, and my apologies...win as a team, lose as a team-go clones.

Re: Cyclone postgame locker room video
Leaders are still being developed. We'll know by B12 season. Leave it at that.
