ISU-OSU postgame thread
This team is growning up infront of our eyes. I really like the smarts of the team. The young players are going to be good ones in coming years. They will have their rough streaches but they keep getting better. They had their rough streaches today but they didnt allow OSU to really be in the game. At times it looked like they were not playing at 100% and yet they still won. In the past they would have had to go a lot harder for this win.

Re: ISU-OSU postgame thread
We're still missing a strong post defender. No one could stop Deane when he got the ball in the lane, and he's no Blake Griffin. We've been weak in that area ever since Homan graduated. Our best hope might be Justin Hamilton. I would like to see him get some more minutes.

Lucca hands down was the most entertaining for me. =) The team did play some good TEAM basketball and it is really starting to come together. We are yet to have a truly dominant player, but its coming. With the youth we have right now, I couldnt be happier with their performance.

19 assists on 21 FG's is the best stat I have seen today. Thats pretty damn good.

Re: ISU-OSU postgame thread
Good game. It never really felt like they were that threatening, but it never felt real comfortable either.
Offensively, OSU seemed a lot like us last year. One scorer (the aptly named Walking Carpet), lots of effort, but no real ability to come back.
We handled the press smartly. Last year, that would have torn us apart. Good win. We win in different ways, with different guys each time. And Lucca had that nice shot from Kingsbury Country.

I could not help but think what this team would look like with Wes Johnson. I think we would be the surprise team in the Big XII

Re: ISU-OSU postgame thread
I was behind one of the baskets and I missed seeing Lucca launch that three from Germany. I would love to see a replay of that if someone could upload it somewhere....
Good win for our team. I still am scared about our defense when anyone drives the lane against us. Other than that our defense looked pretty good.

Re: ISU-OSU postgame thread
The team looked good and they seem like they are coming together. With the players on the floor we are far better at running Mac's O than the last few years. My concern, we really haven't been tested by a good solid team yet. We're better than last year but for me still just a bit unproven.
Only 14 more wins and look out NCCA tourny You can have it Fast, Cheap, Reliable.....Please pick TWO! -

Honestly at this point I wonder how he would have fit in this team dynamic. Im thinking it worked out for the best.

ISU wins by 13. Nothing to complain about on my behalf.

Don't get me wrong I'd love it if he were still here but I think the team looks pretty darn good without him. Not near the drop off I thought we would see when he said he was leaving last year.

Me, too. I think the guys play much more together than last year's team. Maybe cohesively is the word I'm thinking of.
We'd get more attention because of WJ's talent, but this year we can get more attention from being competitive. As Eik said, we can surprise some teams in the Big XII this year.

Also, not trying to open any cans of worms or anything (OK, yes I am) the crowd today was pretty disappointing. For most of the game you could hear a pen drop on the court even when OSU was on offense.

Come on Alley, lets hear a roar =)
