I still cannot wrap my head around why Iowa fans don't have higher expectations for those representing their university. It's not just about being good at athletics. It's about representing your faculty, student body, and alumni in a manner that would make them proud to wear that university's clothing, be a student there, or teach there. Whatever happened to people knowing that when they went out in public they were representing more than just themselves?
Friend is it not lost on you that ISU FANS are talking about how Iowa's coach doles out punishment? They are b i t t e r!
Quite frankly I debate for a living, but I will concede you are right I can't win a debate with those who are delusional and disinterested in the facts. Those said posters donít know anything. They have even waffled back and forth in this very thread. You are also wrong, you cannot universally dismiss a player from a team in todayís AMERICA without mitigating circumstances. Since said circumstances were going to eventually involved accusations of a quite heinous variety they could NOT be dismissed.
They could however be quarantined from the team and given the cold shoulder. They obviously were.
Now relax, your talking out of your mind. Breath it helps a little.
Good Lord. What does Lickliter suspending a player have to do with digging up old garbage? any excuse, I guess.
I wouldn't mind an explanation to KF's son living in subsidized housing or whatever it was. "KF didn't know." is not going to work.
No man is great outside of Jesus ******. I am not so stupid and naive as to think that a sporting coach is anything other than what he is. The failing flesh bound coach of my favorite team. I'm also not so dimwitted as to think that a foe can be even remotely fair or impartial at a critique of said coach. You have a history in the limited time I have been over here of being incapable of conceding anything to Iowa. Thatís fine you can't stand them and I get that. But you'd also be the first dismissed from a jury trial so your testimony is jaded and canĎt be taken at face value. That should say enough right there.
Holy snikes is that rich..................You told me I can't win this debate in a cavaliers manner for which I responded by indicating I am prepared as per my profession?!?!. You really don't think this stuff out to it's logical end do you? So a university in todayís America wouldn't do EVERYTHING they could to prevent being sued?!?!? If you have any answer to that other than NO then please don't ask me another question.

Chad and Jon M,
Back up long snapper gets kicked off the team for very little. Matt Roth gets away with murder (more than anyone will ever know) in Iowa City and KF bailed him out many many times.
Benny Sapp is a terrible example. How many chances did KF give him? How bout Iowa football players playing in bowl games when they were deemed academically inelgible? The ticket scandal? Allowing players to come back after the credit card theft? I could go on and on.
Kirk Ferentz is all that is wrong with college athletics. "I didn't know where my son lived." What a lying crock of ****
No, he doesn't. What he should do is wait for all the facts before making a decision. You saw what happened at Duke with the 3 lacrosse players. Suppose Kirk got the news, kicked the 3 off the team, then found out the girl was white - and her story was false? I know that's an extreme example, but just reverse the skin colors of the accused/victim, and that is exactly what happened at Duke.
Can you imagine that the shitstorm that would happen if a rich, white coach kicked 3 black players off his team because a white girl made up a story about getting raped by those players? Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and the NAACP would be over that like flies on ****. The lawsuits would be out of this world.
