Re: Hilton magic is dead!
It has been dying for some time now. I think apathy is starting to set in with some of our fans.....and I'm not far from it myself. Why beat your head against the wall continually and come back expecting different results. Watching Gmac's teams have really started to spike my blood pressure...its not always necessarily because of w/l records, its the fact that we are not improving in fundamental areas such as rebounding. Drake is in the first year of a totally new coaching staff and they seemed to have figured that aspect out.

well yeah it looks like drake is better rebounders when we have nobody within 10 feet of the hoop.

I hope to see a ton of you ISU students/fans there with me Friday!!
Anyone who thinks Hilton Magic is gone should have watched the EIU game. The place looked like a funeral. When ISU's game started even though there were a few low bowl seats open the crowd looked energized.
And for all of you blasting the old folks, they spend big bucks to be there and keep our athletics funded, so back off. Also, there were a couple close-ups of some gray haired folks in the aisle bowing to Lucca. Also, a lot of those older folks are the faithful that have time to travel to our away games and tourney games.
Cyclone Alley - I have to agree when I was a student, I loved that we got tickets throughout the stadium, it was fun. Although there are the codgers who get annoyed with young folks and complained, I think a lot of the older folks liked it because they love to visit and talk to the students during breaks. I think it energized them as well being around younger people.

Yeah, I know. I was bored out of my skull when Lucca couldn't miss last night. I mean...some serious yawning was going on.
And it only got worse when Petey knocked a few down. I hate shooting nearly 50% from the 3point line.
And how did you feel after the game?
Also why do you insist on following me around to every thread. Have a thought on your own guy.

I know apathy has set in for me. I can't take this crap.

weird, see a correlation here. when the team is good we have great fans. don't tell me this team is good right now, a bunch of people don't realize they have wins over no one, UNI is terrible. People just build it up and then don't realize their expectations unreasonable. People on this site have been setting themselves up for this type of let down. Some of us saw this coming, they shoot too many threes, and when you shoot that many threes you are going to go minutes without buckets.
And when ISU loses don't come running to cyclonefanatic to post that hilton magic is dead. That loss last night had nothing to do with the fans. In my eyes im going to put that loss on dg. He is always forcing the issue, needs to take a chill pill and let things get set up, let the game come to him if you will

So us being a boring, perimeter shooting team will equate to losing? Seems to me it's won us a game or two this year.
Where does it say people can't post in multiple threads and respond to the nonsensical rants of an angry man?

Johnny Orr was Hilton Magic he got it. Even when we lost we could walk away knowing we did our best. Right now I walk away knowing we suck and our coach is getting outcoached every game.
When a kid hits 8 3 pointers in a game and we need a 3 I don't think it's rocket science. I don't think you give the last 2 shots to a walk on.
I agree 100%. The Magic isn't dead. The Magic wont respond to poor effort. When the effort is there on Defense the Magic will appear which transitions to the offense. The Magic will not appear because the lights get turned on, these young teams need to realize this. They feel they are feel they are "owed the Magic" and are not willing to recieve the floor burns or take the elbow to earn the Magic. Magic comes from the toughnes of diving after that loose ball or winning a posession by tying up the defender in the corner. The Magic is always there, waiting to strike. It is up to the five men on the floor to bring it out.

I couldn't have said it any better if I tried.

That is why I post after you. I always post after people enjoy being on the losing team instead of the winning team.

You betcha. Losing is awesome!
So is incompetence.
Re: Hilton magic is dead!
How can you get excited about a team that continually blows double diget leads halfway thru the 2nd half?
Re: Hilton magic is dead!

Great fans aren't only great fans when the team is great. That's what you call "fair weather" fans, certainly not "great".
