this is from my point of view obviously, but!!!!

when the other team is shooting free throws to take a two or 3 point lead and the crowd is

SITTING DOWN

THAT IS PATHETIC!!!!

I remember coming to games when i was little and think it was so cool taht the whole stadium was on their feet cheering in THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME! Nowadays its the end of the game with the game on the line and people can't even stand and cheer.

absolutely pathetic and i am truly disappointed in the cyclone faithful.
I do think that im probably the only people that are going to read this are the ones that are cheering, but seriously what i saw tonight was jsut down right pathetic. I am more frustrated at the cyclone (un)faithful than i am that we actually lost.

Is this thread going to be around after every game? It's obvious- when we start winning consistently and fans start having faith in the program again there will be more enthusiasm. However, I did think the place would be a little more electric tonight, espeically after Lucca's first half.

I agree. I think the students did a great job. It's a lot of the other people. Also, another massive rush to leave with 1 or 2 minutes left in order to beat traffic.

I was cheering as hard as I could for sure and standing up! I blame the loss on ISU not being able to score in the last several minutes of the game. We had a lot of opportunities to put the game away and did not.

We also stopped them 3 times in the last couple of minutes, yet couldn't make a basket. We gave the game away and the old people were tired/frustrated. Sucky day all in all.

I would be more ******, but where I work a lot of people got laid off today, I have some perspective on things..

the last few games that we have won i don't see a HUUUGEEEE problem with the lack fo cheering, but seeing Drake on the free throw line with 20 seconds left and 90% of the crowd sitting down!!!!!

that is something i did NOT expect from the cyclones at all.

I know i already said this but it was PATHETIC (insert throwing up smiley face)

I also notice people leaving for the exits with about 4 minutes left. I hate it when people do that. Its probably my biggest pet peeve. Why do people why to leave their seats early? Don't tell me to beat the traffic.

For what it's worth, I've seen people do that at other schools too.

You are probably right but like I said before once the winning starts all this will come back. There is no excuse but not all fans are fanatics I guess.

I thought it was okay at the beginning of the game, but it really tapered off as Drake got closer.

The sad thing is that everyone in the stands knew we were going to lose with about 10 minutes left and the fans willed the team to the lose.

On a side note mods, I just tried to submit this and I got a message saying that it was too short and that I need to lengthen my message to at least 5 characters. Obviously I have more than 5 characters and I thought you should know.

I think the worst thing about the whole traffic rush is that it's a lot of people in the lower bowl. I mean when you're down by 2 with 1 minute to go and people are leaving, it looks bad. When the lower bowl is empty, that shows up on TV and just looks bad.

I guess I don't understand when you'd sit for 2 hours at a basketball game, but be willing to get up and leave early regardless of the score? Much more understandable in a blowout or something, but kind of silly in a close game.

I'm going to fret too much about it though. It's a little annoying, but life could be worse..

I have long contended that more priority should be given to student seating. Build suites for the fat cats and let the students have half the lower bowl. But I digress.

If Hilton Magic is dead that is on the fans not the team. I have seen plenty of less talented ISU teams upset other teams at home with a crowd behind them that had the floor literally bouncing. (I know because I was on the floor).

I thought the students were great tonight and really into it. Rest of the crowd? Not so much. Pep band did great though.

It's the oldies in the parquet. I too think the students should get to sit on the side as well. The students cheered loud tonight, but no one else wants to cheer. STOP LEAVING EARLY TOO!!!!! STAND UP AND CHEER!!!!
