Re: Former cyclones and Committs Stats
Yeah, I looked at their stats last week. Hell, even Mike Evanovich is doing pretty well and he wouldn't have sniffed the court at ISU. I take back what I said about Westbrook and Stinnett
Re: Former cyclones and Committs Stats
Westbrook, Stinnett, Taggart, Degand and Clarke would have been a very very good team.
Re: Former cyclones and Committs Stats
When was Rotnei Clark ever committed to ISU? I usually follow basketball recruiting pretty closely, and I remember his name, but I don't remember ever having a committment from him?
Re: Former cyclones and Committs Stats
He almost pulled the trigger but he has a family connection with Arkansas and opted to stay close to home.
Re: Former cyclones and Committs Stats
this would have to be a pretty big group if we are going to include guys who "almost" committed, what about Leuer, Zeller, the Russian guy who the NBA needed, etc....

Rotnei had told our staff he was coming to Iowa State. He liked the staff, we were the first ones to offer him.
Re: Former cyclones and Committs Stats
We would have been a very good team had all these guys stayed around. Add Brack and Staiger and it would have been on.
Re: Former cyclones and Committs Stats
This thread is depressing.
This is the single reason I'm upset with this staff. Their failure to hold on to any of the talent they inherited is why we are in the mess we are in in year 3.
Re: Former cyclones and Committs Stats
I think you need to include the team/conference these guys are playing in to make any kind of judgment.
Re: Former cyclones and Committs Stats
Taggart also leads his conference in the percentage of his neck filled with tattoos - a feat he's been working on for some time now!

He's no Alex Thompson, that's for sure.
Re: Former cyclones and Committs Stats
Remember when everyone was saying we don't need Taggart. Funny how a team that played in the finals last year and is very tough this year. It's funny how they need Taggart but we don't.
I think Tags ends up in the NBA due to his mid range game. He clearly has learned how to rebound better than any of our current players.
I do feel bad for Degand. He just can't get it going. He is either injured or redshirting pretty much his whole college playing days.

Good information Cyguy33. Very interesting to see their stats.
I don't understand how people think these guys have any thing to do with McDermott and this coaching staff's failure to keep guys.
3 guys were transfers. Clarke wanted to commit to ISU and I remember talking to the assistant during the Morgan years talk about him. Basically said he was the best shooter he had seen in high school.
