Portland State upsets No. 7 Gonzaga 77-70
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP)—Portland State had not beaten a Top 25 team since reinstating its basketball program in 1996-97, and there weren’t many signs the Vikings figured to do it against No. 7 Gonzaga on Tuesday night.

P.S.- night Love all the McD apologists that try to distract from the point of the discussion by pointing out "spelling errors", than actually joining in the discussion. Obviously nite is not the formal spelling of the word, rather an informal version of the word. Oh, this is according to webster, I guess I was supposed to check with "Cyclonewanderer" before webster as to the appropriate use. Thanks. I implore you to go to bed now before you distract from another real discussion.

No.
Why it doesn't make me feel better?
A) They will be in the NCAA tournament...we wouldn't get very far in the High School Basketball Tournament.
B) Their coach has a proven record, solid gameplans, and a good understanding of his teams talents. We have a coach that runs the same offense as my 6th grade AAU coach when we had a kid who hit puberty about 3 years before everyone else (give it to Craig and get out of his way).
C) They have at least 3 NBA players on their roster, we have 3 walk-ons that play alot.
D) They will be in the top 25 all year. We are lucky to score 25 points in a game.
E) They are good, we suck.

Hearing the misfortunes of other teams doesn't ever do anything to make me feel good. Some one elses bad night doesn't change the fact that we aren't playing well. I want Iowa State to win consistently and make the tournament. If that isn't happening, anyone elses losses are pretty meaningless.

And Xavier lost at home to Butler. Yes, that's the same Butler team that graduated all their starters a year ago. The same team that is 10-1. The same Butler team that lost their coach to Iowa 2 years ago. Xavier, by the way was 9-1 and ranked about 12.
